Fred- Probably likes him, as being his lap dog got him his best job ever, thus he sucks up the fat jokes and moves on.
Rock- Also likes him as I think north lets him do what he wants, because North recognizes it is the best part of the show
Jen - Thankful, but would be happy to move on today
Mulligan and Hanley- Think he is a joke and an idiot, but not looking to fight with him because they have jobs and reputations
Murph- Often lays claim to finding North. So i think Murph likes him, but is jealous
Boers, Bernstein, Drink, Goff- All think he is just a self promoting idiot and he is on 'the Team" so they don't need to make another enemy and only make a little fun of him.
Zach - can't stand North
Holmes- Doesn't like him but has grown use to him.
George- Likes Mike because Mike does not make fun of him as much as others do.
Doug - Who doesn't Doug like? George!
Jessie- Loves North!
Mitch- Would just wish the guy would improve the show
Paul- Hates him

Do you know these for a fact, or are you just making conjectures based on what you hear? I get the impression that a lot of people don't like their co-workers at WSCR.

In a second reference to Grimey this week, I picture Bernstein viewing North in a similar way Grimey viewed Homer.

I just read the post and most of the people then like North? so I am not so sure it was meant to be a bad post?

Actually think it might be pretty accurate?

We know Paul hates him ( or should )

We know the whole afternoon show likes making fun of him

I agree on the ZZ guess, as Mike always tries to pick a fight with him?

and I think the rest of the post is claimed to like him?

without even checking, don't think it is PR steph then?

Maybe it was BIG DOUG!

I think it was an interesting post. I often wonder what people think of North over there.... as does Murph, Terry and especially Bernstein.

I think if you listen closely, it is obvious what B/B think of North opinions, I am pretty sure they are amused by him, but dont have much respect for the guy. I am sure when the day comes when North is no longer there, Dan and Terry will have something to say.

North is going in nowhere, I mean if he is smart.

The only thing that will prevent him from dieing there is his ego, as he will not make as much money on the next deal, which I am pretty sure he knows.

However, I am just guessing that whatever they offer him, he is countering with the Bonus laden deal that gets him close to $1 Million.

We shall see

North and Dane Cook?

I agree with this - I don't think either really take him seriously. I believe Boers has a certain level of respect for him (not much though), but Bernstein thinks he's just a loudmouth idiot.

I think the reason he got the big $$$ was because of the sponsors that he has friendly relationships with, and some idiot in management who bought into North and his free for all format that he was introducing with Anne Maxwell. It can't be because of the ratings he produces because he has always consistently lost (or that's what I believe is the case).

YES! I think they thought they had another Imus! not that he would be Imus, but yes, I think someone thought they could make Mike North a nationwide craze and syndicated show. Like Mike and Mike.

Once you pay the guy, it's your show to just sell. So it looks like someone missed and missed big. I am not sure who at infinity radio, because that guy must be a radio genius! Because guys in Radio are really really smart!

That is my understanding of the situation as well. Mike sold CBS on the idea that he could be syndicated. The contract was signed out of the national office. It probably would have been a steal if they had actually syndicated the show. What I don't understand is why you sign anyone to that type of contract without the full plan in place. On the other hand I heard on Howard Stern that Jimmy Farrell is getting paid millions by NBC just for the possibility to be the replacement for Conan O'Brien.

Good,

You do not have the ability to be 'IN RADIO" as some cohost of the MNMS would say 'Our Business"

Where did she land?

Greg Solk, big time Radio guy went from intern at Steve and Garry to big time Radio guy, Mike North became a multi millionaire?

Never once do I doubt it takes hard work and some luck, but lets not confuse it with actual intelligence

I understand the reasoning of giving Pappy that money. They thought he'd be big time. But why did they think that?

I'm sure these people have had regular conversations with this idiot off the air. Not to mention just listening to him.

Somebody must have realized that they were dealing with a complete meatball. Somebody must have. Did they think Chicago would love an idiot talking politics and entertainment? Obviously they did.

Plus, they gave Pappy that money without him ever doing a drive time shift. That's rare. Usually hosts need to prove themselves in morning or afternoon drive to get the big money. Pappy never did.

They switched him to afternoons's shortly into his deal. He failed and got killed by MJH. He's failed at mornings now for 3 years.
