Why? The only solution requires Cutler not being on the team next year.

There are people that truly believe this

I dont need an excuse for saying Claussen played decent for a backup. It's a normal thought.

Everyone should.

No reason to throw good money after bad. They have a great chance to mitigate the damage done by a horrible contract. You take it when you have a lifeline.

Its been clear to most people that Cutler is bad. The play calling issues seem to be mostly with Cutler lovers from what I can see.

Were my Cutler thoughts in every other year fake? YES OR NO?

I doubt he was lying. I'll give you he was 100% telling the truth.

You're just assuming that whatever would have been run was going to be effective.

If yesterday is our evidence of what can be accomplished in a Marc Trestman Offensive Machine without the meddlesome interference of a QB on the field looking at the defense, I'm not certain what difference it makes if Cutler wasn't running those plays.

Even Cutler haters have noticed. I know what plays are going to be called and considering the defense is usually standing next to the receivers on the screen passes it is clear that they know too.

Maybe the offense is bad. I know that it looked good last year (better without Jay)

But if Jay is refusing to run the offense the way the coaches want, that's a problem.

Trestman just learned about a slant 3 weeks ago and just learned Forte was a running back this week. That still didn't stop the screen passes.

If we have to throw out a person's viewpoint because there may be bias involved, I'd probably start with Kromer.

Or maybe it'd be different if I had beers with Kromer's dad once.

Jay Cutler is the greatest quarterback that ever lived. He is simply a victim of poor defenses, dumb coaches, and lying coordinators. Put this man in the Hall of Fame now!

If Trestman keeps this job, I'm laying the blame squarely on the likes of JORR and RPB.

You're still focusing on the wrong thing. The problem starts with Jay Cutler.

I don't know the exact stats (we could look them up together) but as of a couple weeks ago I had heard stats wise this was Cutler's best season. Minus turnovers, of course.

It came from NFL Network, or FOX, or somewhere.

Yes, it's his best statistical year and he's leading the league in Turnovers.

Ok, well if Cutler is still here, it will be the fault of you and others who fail to see what is right in front of you.

You can throw out anything you want. It seems legit to me.

Person "hates" ND = invalid opinion
Person met somebody's dad years ago = invalid viewpoint
Asst coach that is about to be fired trying desperately to save face = gospel

Are you serious?

I asked Conns a question and said Id take his answer at face value. Pretty much the opposite of saying it's invalid.

And maybe it wasnt clear, but I was joking with NSD. I dont think meeting Cutler's dad affects his opinion.

And finally, I said it "seems legit to me" which is miles from gospel

O for 3 on this post.

There are very few good options here.

But, I'd rather take Cutler & some coach vs. Clausen-type & Trestman.

Up to me, I want them all gone and throw Emery in the trunk while you're leaving. But, I'm trying to be realistic. The best hope for the Bears future is to get Trestman out of town first. This team is a mess.

Cutler isn't helping anything and he's been awful pretty much all year long. Cutler sucks.

Problems
1 Cutler
1a Emery and Trestman

He has won 9% of his starts and 5% of the games he has played in.

How do you lead the league in turnovers, when over half your plays are check-downs and screen passes? Stop with the excuses for Jay. Yes, Trestman sucks as a head coach, but this is not Jay's first or second coach. He has had plenty of chances to find synergy with a coach, yet here we are making excuses for Jay and why he just needs P after A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, has not worked.

The problem with a new coach is that it will either be another Cutler fixer, or some coach who won't want to be the next in the line of coaches that lose jobs because if Cutler is on the team after that money gets guaranteed then Cutler is here for the next 2 years.
