That's simple. Cuz the Clausen story was true. He doesn't get those ones.

I think he spent most of the day looking for other stories to dilute his, just in case it fall apart.

I go back to my original statement. Maybe they all stay, because it just costs too much to dump them all right now and what are you going to do to replace them? With whom?

I got the end of the show when Danny wanted someone "RUN OUT" because he was talking about his fantasy team. I didnt hear the guy at all on the radio, so he culdnt have been talking that loud. Maybe Danny was on edge today?

are you kidding me i would much rather have models in lingerie coaching the bears at least they would not only motivate better they would solve the issue of the bears not being able to have cheerleaders.

The latest inside information from Dan Bernstein:
#Bears latest: meetings continue, with George McCaskey now having taken full charge. He will make final decisions on how high purges go.

You can't get this information from anyone else. Imagine the type of detail you could get if he was a journalist and not an entertainer!

He took a risk and it will probably pay off. He has to get some credit because he would have gotten destroyed if he was wrong.

I would give him credit f I felt it was a calculated risk.

I think the coaches were just so bad and he went to his "My guy" rhetoric, which then turned into way more than he thought, but he had to stand behind it as hard as he has tried not to.

Remember, Terrys guy told him the same thing. So no other media person has this info outside of Terry and Dan. LOL

Either way, he'll pat himself on the back for this one, no doubt, but what he really did (and continues to do) is to attempt to make his opinion's more legitimate by couching them as what his "sources" say.

Pretty comical that people believe that these two have these legitimate sources that Dan can text or call during a commercial break at any time. Again, pretty easy to get thoughts from your source when you're quoting your opinions as a "source".

I am. It paid off this time. Because of that he'll likely do it more and it will come back to bite him in the ass.

Why would they have to continue to meet if the decision had already been made?

Mark potash was on the air today and said he had no idea which way the bears would go and doubted anyone knew

Bernstein reported on Christmas Eve that the team is already looking into all kinds of candidates to replace Emery, but doesn't know if a move will be made, just that one should be made.

Dan Bernstein is a source only to himself. Other reporters will have to get their information from people other than themselves.

These never ending meetings that supposedly are on-going must be to talk about the qualifications of these candidates.

If national writers, who normally have this stuff, are quiet, I certainly can't come to a conclusion that the Bears are sniffing around candidates all over the league, yet only Dan Bernstein is aware of this (although he didn't give any names).

In other words, Bernstein is not a source for Potash.

There hasnt been one media person that has relied upon the Bernstein report. Even the guys on his own station make sure his name is behind it.

And I 100% agree, if they are done with Trestman why continue to talk to the guy they are also considering replacing ?

However, this is why you fire people, so you can talk to other people and find the replacements.

A good owner woud have made this move weeks ago and either made it clear Emery and Teddy are staying or going or else you need to have secret meetings in the storeroom at the Lake Forest Oasis!

The gift that keeps giving. The latest from Dan Bernstein:

Latest I hear from #Bears is that only G.McCaskey himself is safe. Everyone else could be swept out. Nothing decided, however.

Dan speaks in near-absolutes on various topics (allegedly) without any credible sources or proof: asswipe supreme with cheese.

CSFMB speaks in near-absolutes about Dan having no sources without any credible sources or proof: perfectly reasonable.

Judging innocuous discussion among anonymous internet commenters by the same standard as major sports-media figure issuing sensational, unsourced report: awesome

Just so we are clear, if Trestman is fired today, you can't make fun of Dan. He was right and almost certainly had sources close to the team about it. Just like the with Cubs, he has become a man who now gets information to shape the narrative anonymously.

Soon, we'll be hearing stories about what newspaper columns the Bears front office is laughing at and how they told you all along how this was exactly what they were going to do.

that's like saying that god exists only because you can't prove that He doesn't exist.

fortunately everyone on the CSFMB knows that dan is god, so we don't have to deal with that trite religious crap that has plagued mankind since its creation by the wonderful Anunnaki from the Sirius galaxy.

I do not care about being first to report information that will not occur for two weeks (especially for news that is eminently observable to all). It's the opposite of breaking news.

The thing is that a lot of people were questioning at the time whether the Bears would be willing to fire anyone after only two years. Once Dan reported it then it became obvious to everyone.
