All punk rock is whiney but it's easier when you have actual reasons to whine.

BRick is basically running around the music classroom with a 2' high dunce cap on but thinks it's a mortarboard.

This is wrong. On many levels.

Well, if you basic point is that music has improved over the years in terms of quality I'd disagree with you completely.
If you mean the quality of the recordings has increased I would agree with you.
If you are telling me that overall todays music is better than the music from the recent past (the middle to end of the 20th century), I'd say you're out of your gourd.

Music has been terrible for like the last 15-20 years.

Course, everyone hates the next generation's music.

And the Beatles are a terrible example. They're not very good. PARTICULARLY the wanna hold your hand bubblegum shit they did. At least when they started doing some Dr. Robert they got more interesting.

I'm saying your wrong ... your point isn't some profound statement, it's perfunctory observation at best.

You don't like music, you're in puppy love with the fidelity of more modern music.

You're free to do that of course. You're just not free to pretend to offer insightful music criticism. It's like somebody extolling the virtues of Arby's while shitting all over the concept of the five mother sauces and their actual importance to the culinary arts.

You can listen to all the Taylor Swift or Fallout Boy or whoever you want. Just don't try to argue that they're anything other than flash in the pan "blech" or, worse yet, somehow better than, say, Charlie Christian or even Chuck Berry for that matter.

I don't think music has been terrible for the last 15-20 years though I'm pretty partial to the music of my teenage years too.

The Rolling Stones have been rocking for literally 52 years. Their tickets are impossible to get.
In 45 more years Taylor Swift would be lucky to be working the Holiday Inn.

I didn't though. See, it would help if you actually try and understand the point before you make your insightful criticism.

I've made enough posts on here you don't have to make up stances of mine.

The evolution of the Rolling Stones are actually a pretty good example of how music improves though. Though, obviously age caught up to them on the newer stuff.

I agree, Led Zeppelin improved on the Stones.

The Stones have been on a downhill slide since about 1972. That's a long fucking time.

They're still selling out 70,000 seat stadiums. Will Wilco or Fallout Boy do that in 2050?

No. Only every single band that is making better music than them in 2050.

Did you know that if the Stones started making music right now nobody would listen to them? It's true. A "C&C Music Factory" historian I know said so.

I think John Williams is very good.

Think Beethoven is just a little bit better.

I missed who is better than Ray Charles or John Coltrane. Please point me in the right direction.

Dude, I saw the CSO do John Williams at Ravinia a couple years ago... was one of my favorite nights at Ravinia. Just splendid.
You are of course referring to the Hub Arkush looking John Williams of movie soundtracks fame, yes?
