New Glarus shits gold...they simply do not make a bad beer.

while I like Spotted Cow, my favorite New Glarus beer is "Moon Man". It's perfect.

Moon Man is my fav IPA. A nice clean, slightly bitter taste that doesn't get bogged down in goopy super hoopy stuff.

I recently tried Alesmith IPA for the first time.

It's a nice beer, but I'm not sure it merits the extraordinarily high 95 rating it enjoys on beeradvocate.com.

Wormtown's Be Hoppy IPA, which has a 96 rating on BA, is significantly better in my opinion.

Send me some Be Hoppy :D

And was the Alesmith fresh? I have a hard time finding it fresher than two months old.

One of my favorite Black IPA's - not a ton of hops, but it's smooth.

Tried the Mint Chocolate Stout by Flying Dog Brewery.

Tasted just like an Andes Mint in liquid form. One pint was pretty good, wouldn't have another one in the same sitting.

Try 4Hands Milk Chocolate Stout if that's your thing.

If it's a stout, i'll always give it a try.

I knew I was having just one and perusing the draft list, it caught my eye

That's how I feel about Two Brothers Peppermint Bark Porter. Not bad, but I can't drink three or four of them.

I reacquainted myself with Hacker Pschorr Weiss on NYE. I've always loved that stuff. Someone brought the big bottles and I was drinking it as a chaser to a variety of shots and a cigar.

Hacker Pschorr is delicious.

Over the holiday, I was introduced to Franzenkaner Heffe Weiss. it reminded me of Hoegarden and warranted a side by side Pepsi Challenge.
Franzenkaner won and has been moved up on the roster.

Got a surprise box from my MN guy with a few Toppling Goliath bombers. Had one last night. I don't think they've made a bad beer.

I keep hearing good things about Boulevard, but I've never had one of their beers. Do they make a satisfying IPA?

The two I've had...nope. People compare their pale to Gumballhead, but I've never had that one.

First time trying anything by them. Honestly, the 6 pack was discounted being a holiday brew so I gave it a shot. Will definitely be looking out for other options.

Costco sold a 3-pack of bombers this fall. It had a farmhouse ale, belgian quad, bourbon barrel belgian quad.

Not sure if they're still selling.

I love the beers from their smokestack series. The Bourbon Barrel Quad is one of the best beers I have ever had.

Are they available on the east coast? The brewery is in Kansas City.

Having a trifecta from Maine Beer Co tonight:

Peeper
Tiny Beautiful Thing
Mo

Might just be my (next) favorite brewery. They're all fantastic.

And you didn't have any of their top 3.

TBT is fantastic. So is Peepers.

What is better than that and where can I get it?

Lunch and Another One are better. Binny's gets shipments of both every few months. Dinner is the best, but they only sell that at the brewpub.

I got all 3 of these at the Binny's by me, but that's all I've seen there. They regularly have Peeper, but tonight was the first time I've seen Tiny Beautiful Something.

You've had 6 different beers by Maine from Binny's? I continue to think that my Binny's is not as good as other locations.

Just looked at MBC's offerings, and I can recall seeing as many as ten of them at Schaumburg Binny's. maybe yours sucks. I know the Arlington Heights store rarely has any of their beers. I'll give you a heads up next time Another One is released. One of my favorites, hands down.

I haven't seen Lunch or Another One in bottles in a couple months, and I'm in MA.

Both Lunch and Another One are great. Lunch is better, in my opinion.

I'm looking forward to getting to the brewery this summer. Portland is a very cool town. Also plan on doing a driving tour of Vermont, particularly the Burlington area.

We did it in the fall. Do yourself a favor and at least spend a day near Mount Washington in New Hampshire too. That area had some of the best outdoor sites we saw anywhere.
