As it seems the only reason Jay will be here in 2015 is due to the sizeable $$ owed to him in 2015

Not even a question this team drafts a QB this year and not just a flyer. IF there is some new direction at Halas Hall someone will finally start the QB evaluation with the very simple thing need by a QB in the NFL "A GOOD ARM". It does not Guarantee a good QB, but it is a trait that cant be taught. I just cant take another 6 ft Qb, who throws qucik accurate passes 20 yards down the field.

Joe Flacco reminds me of a guy who got all the attention due to his arm strength and had to learn the rest. Remember Wanny kept Tyler Palko over Flacco in College, thats why Flacco transferred.

At some point a Qb should be in this draft, around round 3-4...Sudfeld from Indiana is my call.

Sudfeld missed the whole season. I doubt he's going to come out early.

There are no QBs in this draft after the first 2 unless you love Brett Hundley. He's a third-round talent that will probably work his way up because there are no other options. Now, based on nothing, I see him starting to get projected in the late-1st, just because he's there.

If you need a dark-horse, take that Colorado State guy.

This could be a 2 year window. Whoever takes this GM job might need 2015 to tear it down...and thus a top 3 draft pick is reality in 2016.

Cant be a forced pick, like Fales. Not trying to insult Dr Ken here, but if you drafted Fales and the season was a waste, you should have played him at some time.

Here's your guy.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1776297/brandon-bridge

If you're talking about a top 3 overall pick for 2016, you're looking at Connor Cook.

I was originally looking at Carden out of ECU but I really did not like what I have seen over the past couple of weeks.

If you want the guy who is going to be the best straight pocket passer out of this draft, take a look at Sean Mannion out of Oregon State

If you want the guy who is going to look great until he starts throwing the football, look at Brandon Bridge out of South Alabama

That guy has everything...and cannot hit the broad side of a barn

One intriguing prospect to me is Nick Marshall out of Auburn

I hated him but he has grown on me.

What about the guy from ucla? I actually watched a little of that game and he looked al right to me. Athletic big guy, good arm, good speed. He's got some stuff to work with.

My opinion is no draft. Trade Cutler to TN for Mettlinger or whatever and develop him. He came back too soon from ACL this year.

If they want to trade, they should try to trade for Kirk Cousins.

That evaluation seems a little harsh.

Agreed, he sucks.

The guy from Auburn throws one hell of deep ball.

That's a good one. He kind of fell off the radar after coming back.

I liked him last year but didn't see too much of him this year. He should have left after his Junior year.

You're right. I didn't mean for it to sound so blunt.

He's an above-average college QB who will be a terrible pro.

I think after the top 2 QB's, there really isn't much in this draft.

The 4 or 5 QB's picked after Marriota and Winston will have a better chance of starting in the NFL that #1 & #2.

There may not be 5 QBs picked after those guys.

simple. Bears pick some random guy in 4th round and he becomes a Pro Bowler and Bears are in playoffs within 2 years.

That is probably true. Remember, he lost Brandin Cooks to the draft. That guy has shown himself to be a remarkable talent.

So this bring an end to the Courtship of David Fales, Doc?

To get Connor Cook the Bears will either need to win about 2 games next year or trade the 2016 draft away.

As I've said before, the Bears should dump as many high-priced veterans as soon as possible (starting with Cutler, Marshall and Bennett), trade out of the first round in the 2015 draft, and stockpile top-100 picks in this year's and next year's drafts. Doing so will allow them to augment the team's overall talent level while still guaranteeing a horrible record in 2015. The Bears can then use what should be a top-3 pick in 2016 to select their quarterback of the future.

No.

I was just saying that if bigfan is just looking for some big ol' dude with a cannon and no accuracy, then that's his guy.

I thought Mettenberger would be OK. But then I saw what Beckham, Landry and Hill did this year. I'm going with he sucks and was a product of his supporting cast. He's came off as a knucklehead this year too.

We definitely need to be drafting QB in both 2015 and 2016....Cutler certainly isn't the answer and if we get a willing trade partner, we need to take it!

Best arm here so far is Garrett Grayson.

It's a very labored process when Sean Mannion throws the football. Slow, long delivery with no zip.

So, I guess that explains that.

Mannion must be really bad. Another report says the guy is undraftable based on today's practice.
