4K is not what you think it is Bigfan. Unless you're planning on watching your 55' from three feet away.

OLED. If you've got the scratch, buy one. And thank yourself for years. The only TV I've seen that beats my VT Panny plasma.

watched it last evening. Its amazing. The only issue was the I was watching something made for 4K and 98% of content today isnt made for it.

And I dont think I have watched a TV from 4 feet away since I was 7 watching Superfriends with a bowl of Cocoa pebbles!

Or trying to watch the late night movies on Cinemax thru the scrambled feed.

will we ever get 4k content from cable/satelite providers? they barely even provide 1080p content.... considering most people use their TV's to watch cable/satelite content which is 1080i.... 4k is a luxury at this point for home theater enthusiasts

My 40'' Sony HDTV that I bought nearly 7 years ago from Craigslist still looks and works just fine.

I bought my Samsung 40" 8 years ago this month. It's still going strong, but I would like it to die so I can buy a new one.

Got a 4k tv in October. Love it. Price has come down considerably, I paid around 2 grand for a 65" Sony.

I saw the prices have been going down but like BF said those 4K's are not being put to work as stations broadcast in either 720 or 1080. I still have my 65 inch HDTV which I bought 12 years ago. The picture is fine, never had a problem (Mitsubishi brand). I have a regular 32" Westinghouse that is about 8 years old. It has a great picture but the LED 46" Westinghouse I bought about 3 years ago wins out in picture clarity. Very crisp and it's a pleasure watching sports or a movie on it. When I checked out the new 4K's at BestBuy,the picture was great but I'm not sure it was 900 bucks better than my Westinghouse LED TV.

Was in ABT the other day to get a new dishwasher, and they had a 105" Samsung 4k on display. Only $120,000.
