Is this a joke or a reference to a rumor?

There were past rumors he was doing teammates wives/girlfriends so bite me.

Edit: The newscaster or teammate thing is what I thought.

Easy, tough guy. I hadn't heard the rumors about Sharp so I didn't know if you were being a dick or not.

Tough Guy? Lol I love everyone Eddie.

Haha. I think the Coyotes had been too cheap to hire a second man in the radio booth, and then were like "okay, who's an ex-hockey player who lives here?" and Boynton was first in alphabetical order.

I'm going to go ahead and assume "ex-hockey player" in PHX has a somewhat lower bar than an Orig.6 town

Let's not bury the lede here. Did spmack really refer to Jen Patterson as a "journalist"?

it could be all of the above here. Even if Sharp or anyone else was nailing his wife, there had to be other factors to make him take such drastic actions....depression being the most likely.

Regardless, I was incredibly sad to hear this. I'm guessing Sharp has higher profile wives to bang. If Cheryl Scott has been checked off on his list, God Speed, Patrick! :salut:

I wish the HockeyBroads forum were still active, because they were always plugged into the NHL's underbelly and they'd surely have some answers on this. Had a lot of good Kane stories, like the one about how he dipped his dick in ketchup and offered a girl "shrimp cocktail."

I use a variant on that trick, "you want a bite off my foot long?"

A cop I know who works security at the stadium told me that the guy had some marital problems and his wife found him hanging in the basement. Couldn't say if it's true or not, but that's the rumor. Whatever, it's a sad story.

Wow. Working 20 hour days while wifey is home with 4 kids might have something to do with stress on a marriage. They travel with the team too? Plus they don't make a ton of cash , rely on tips from players no?

He's referring to Clint. Those equipment guys work their ass off doing bitch work for shit hours. Seems glamorous working for a sports team but they're like every other regular cat.

I know. It was more a lame attempt to cut off any jokes made about players giving his wife a tip. I was, in effect, making said joke.

And, for the record, I don't have a problem with jokes about what happened. My original question to PittMike wasn't meant to be antagonistic. I know there aren't many boundaries here. I do feel for the family and friends he left behind, but if someone has a joke that makes me laugh, God bless.

To know whether drugs/alcohol were involved in his decision to hang himself, I suppose.

What really sucks is that insurance companies don't pay out on life insurance policies for a suicide...at least they never used to. I dont know if he in fact had any life insurance. Hopefully the Hawks & players will help his Wife & kids out.

Well it is a terrible thing no matter how it happened. Deciding you do not want to be here anymore is a huge cliff to jump off of. I looked at it in the past but damn has to be a real fucking thing to make the jump.

I think there's a time component. So, if you've had the policy for 2+ years or so, it does not matter.

That's exactly right. When my partner decided to kill the guy who fucked us, he had a $2 million dollar policy. He wanted a million to go to his wife and the other million returned to the investors. He waited two years to pull the trigger. Talk about cold-blooded! I guess he found out it was a lot easier to shoot the other guy, because he couldn't manage to follow through on the suicide part.

You might want to choose better business partners. He murdered the guy???

I've read JORR refer to a guy doing time, but I had no idea what the circumstances were. That is quite a tale
