"Ted has experience" !!!! Not with winning a Super Bowl but that's OK. He's watched a lot of football.

He told them what they wanted to hear. Bottom line. George and Ted are not interested in changing the ways things are done at Halas Hall.

But Ryan has complete control. After he reports to Ted.

Maybe it is a good thing Ted looked for someone he can loom over and didnt evaluate the guys ability to find talent.

Superbowl!

He was the pro player guy, not the college scout guy.

He said that the Saints' college and pro scouting departments were blended, so he's been involved with scouting throughout his career.

So the logical question to ask, then, is this: "Which Saints players are you partially or fully responsible for drafting?"

Good drafting will compensate for Ted and George. Of course, I've been waiting 30 years for that good drafting.

Problem being Ted and George pick the guys doing the drafting. And it seems that the one guy who wanted to end the status quo management structure was shown the door. Becuause Ted and George didn't want to hire another ex-Bear.

You're next, Ryan. Good luck.

Ryan said "it's clear" that he is in charge of football operations.

It makes me nervous that he keeps reiterating that there are good football people in the building.

Bring on the draft.

No he isn't. It's clear that Teddy is in charge.

One question that wasn't asked:

Do you base your HC hire on how he feels about the QB?

Pace isn't hiring the head coach. He will nod to whoever Teddy likes.

We are so fucked.

I guess its safe to assume that Pace has already lost the press conference.

So do you still feel good about the Bears organization, the McCaskeys & sweaty Teddy?

I think I will give Ryan Pace two years before a decision is made one way or the other.

Unless his HC is as fucking bad as the great Tresty where by I will come back and lay out his demise three months before it happens.

But i find that mistake to be highly unlikely to be repeated.

No way he can hire someone as bad as Trestman.

Or draft as badly.

I hope.

Analytics say that a move that bad is highly unlikely to be repeated so soon.

“He has total control over the football operations — how he wants to structure the department, the people he might want to keep, new people he might want to bring in,” Phillips said. “His whole plan, it’s his call.”

Then why would he have to report to you? Report to you regarding what?
