That's the very reason Ballard wasn't the guy in that press conference. He knew exactly how the Bears front office works and he wasn't coming unless he was truly in charge of football operations, something they just weren't going to do.

You missed the new narrative as to why Ballard wasn't hired.

After "maybe" wanting too much control, we now have the reason being that he wanted to rid the team of Cutler immediately.

You forgot the Bears spin: They didn't want to hire an ex-Bears employee. I guess they forgot he worked for 12 years for them until they looked at his resume.

God bless Matty.

Danny really believes that the Bears GM can do whatever he wants without approval from his boss? Because Dan can do whatever the hell he wants at The Score, I guess he thinks all organizations work that way?

Great how it comes to an end and Terry just wraps it up with a "non-conflictive bow" from his basement.

So has Dan directly addressed the "Ryan will report to me" quote from Phillips?

Dan's argument is that Pace can do whatever he wants until Ted decides that Pace can't do whatever he wants which means Pace is in charge.

Exactly. This is what Terry should do instead of agreeing with everything that Berns says. I remember Boers with Mac years ago & his viewpoints on politics & sports were the exact opposite of what they are now. I have always likes Matty. I like him more now.

I posted the prevailing thought from earlier in the week until it wasn't a prevailing thought after "maybe" he wanted too much control but he really didn't because he just wanted to dump Cutler.

You have got to be shitting me. He actually knows what Ted was supposed to say?

Bernise watched that press conference and came away with the impression that Ted will be hands off even though the GM will report to him but that was a misspeak.

He is priceless.

I'm sure based upon what you've said here that you answer to at least one, if not more people, even if you are a director or manager of sales.

Dan was wrong. Pace doesn't have full power if Ted can take it away/veto it.

Yes Seacrest. I typed that. We all have seen it now. And we have seen your weak defense of keeping Phillips as team President.

Phillips is a football boob. But he cannot be replaced because there is no football Bowman. Gotcha.

Let me know what your "sources" tell you why Ballard wasn't hired. Because everyone else must be wrong.

Sure, & I have certain levels of spending & decision making authority, but like everyone, I have a boss & I have to get approval on certain things. No different than anyone else.
For some reason Berns thinks that the family owned Bears just let guys do whatever the hell they want, like giving a guy a $126 million contract.

Oh it's real. Drinky hates Bernstein.

Problem with drinky, like we just heard, is he doesn't know how to fight Bernstein. Want some help on this, drinky?

Drinky: Sure.

Go at him like this.

Drinky: Dan, you said Marshall wouldn't be a Bear next year before the GM was hired. How could that be if Teddy and or George aren't making football decisions?

Dan: Well...I....uhhh....ya know...

Drinky: I win!!!!!

Now do this after the break!!!!!

Really? That's even worse than I thought. The minute he said he wanted to get rid of Cutler they should have hired him and given him a bonus.

It's simple. Pace should report directly to George.

It's a family business. Everybody has a boss but his boss should be the family, not Ted.
