On today’s show, there will be more talk about Ted Phillips, who is bad at his job and may take down the entire Bears organization. Even though Dan wrote a column 3 weeks ago pleading with management to not “Bears this up” because of their pathetic history of screwing things up, this same management is now streamlined and knows exactly how an organization is supposed to run. Dan will say if you need to see an example of the Bears structure, just look at the Packers, who also have a Team President. Because the Bears and Packers are very similar. Seriously, this is his argument.

Also, anything that Ted Phillips may have done ten years ago should not be brought up against him. It was a different time back then. A simpler time.

The guys will also break down last night’s title game, which featured plenty of big black studs. Dan will tell us that running backs are important again, per the Wall Street Journal, and his TV.

There will also be some drops from Tim Tebow, who for some reason showed up on my TV last night trying to talk about football.

Bad radio starts at 1.

I could agree with the devil and look powerful and bad.

I could agree with Obama and look progressive and open minded.

I could agree with Jesus and look compassionate and devout.

I could agree with CH and incur the wrath of Sini.

But if I have to agree with Bernsie to look smart, then I'd rather accept a below 70 IQ score and the accompanying ridicule on the following table:

I won't be listening, but I do like when the trolling tables are reversed.

What HFM wrote is why I get a little amusement while listening in small spurts. Dan really isn't that smart about sports, he has marginal experience, interest, or passion. He relies upon stats but doesn't know stats, hence the first contradiction. He'll cite something from the WSJ as being topical and timely when they are neither. And in his zeal to "break" stories he uses ficticious sources that steadily betray him. Shouting down callers has become his thing because like in wrestling he's both hero and heel, just that he can't tell whether the roar in his ears is applause or laughter.

"It's important to George"? What difference does that make if Pace has full control? Forked tongue bernstein.

So, it sounds like these guys, once again, have definitive word on the goings-on at Halas Hall?

It's crazy how these guys now break every Bears story at 1pm everyday. Doin' work.

if they're going to talk all day about how bad the Bulls are, I'm out.

Who am I kidding, I'm out no matter what they're talking about.

Last week- Marshall is gone. The higher ups have already decided. Agree with me and you'll look smart.

Today- Would Fox get rid of Marshall?

Bernstein will consider this as "evolving".

Maybe it will get the DeCosta treatment about how something was reported but not said.

I can only assume soon it'll be 'don't ask about Marshall, he doesn't matter'

Dan also said now that Fox is available it's a good thing they have Arcossi on board.

If Pace needs Accorsi to tell him it might be a good idea to interview Fox, we might have a problem.

If Acorssi recommends interviewing Fox does Pace have 'full control' to not do so?

And the bigger question is if he DOES want to interview Fox, as someone with head coaching experience he'll be pricier than a new coach (the Bears usual hire). Does Ted get involved then? I'll hang up and not listen and read here instead.

walk in and I learn all about the level as to which the Cubs were interested in Joe Girardi, because then Tom, Theo, Dan and Terry made him an offer, they didnt go after him hard.

Also, the caller of 'Hi, how are you?" gets Danny pissed off these days. Really just some annoying radio. 10 mins these days and I need to turn it off. Really depressing to do so, but at its heart, its fake, its fake information with fake disapproval.

it doesn't matter because he is not going to ever win you a Super Bowl and everyone knows that. Therefore he is at best a placeholder until they find someone else.

You know, I'm with Dan on the "how are you?" thing. It's just an annoying-habitual-crutch-dialogue- starter. Do these callers really give a shit how they are? Nope. I don't care how they are. I'm just as pissed as Dan listening to these nit-wits start every call with "how are you?". Get to your fucking point already, caller.

I would guess it's just because it's a banal, pedantic question that really serves no purpose other than as a customary opening to an otherwise cold-start conversation ... it's pretty dumb on their part ... petulant, even for them.

That schmuck that didn't want Fox because he had a heart attack (he did not, btw), I wonder if he'd hang himself at the very thought of Chuck Pagano.

The New York media (and fans) ate this up laughingly. It doesn't matter how much somebody wants someone if that person won't cross the street (Hudson river) just to get stroked. Not that the Cubs can't show interest, just ask Ricky Renteria as to how quickly and decisively they can be.

It's just a few seconds well spent to not sound like a goon. Sans pleasantries:

"John in Des Plaines, you're on the Score."
"How come the Bears won't trade Cutler?!?"

You sound halfway like a guy with Tourette's, just blurting shit out. Even if I'm at, like, a counter ordering food or something, I'll say "hi" or something before I say what I want. "I WANT FOOD."

That's on the screener...he should be reminding each caller to go RIGHT TO their question or comment. They are able to do it with ease on DP show (and MANY others)..but Drinky doesn't give a shit....or whoever is taking the calls. Highly doubtful many are doing it for trolling sake.

I'm with him too, but the answer is to screen the damned calls. Again, it's as if Drinky either likes sabotaging Bernstein to torture him, or thinks he's doing some kind of anti-radio bit by feeding him dopes and having him freak out every day. But the only thing more annoying than a bad caller saying 'hi, I've been a Bears fan for 34 years' is Dan commenting on it all the time.
