We're seeing Stars in the first. Of course most are watching football. "Chicken parm you taste so good." But here in the man cave, no game goes unnoticed. Do we have a 5-4 thriller?

I had no idea the game was on. Figured it started at 7.

Rough start for Cro and the Hawks.

Why do some of them have tape on their socks?

It tells them where to grab when they bend over and take it.

Looks like another season where they got to January and packed it in for the year.

Yeah, it's been a rough last 3weeks, but I'll wait until January is over before I make that conclusion.

I don't know, this is looking pretty bad. At least when the Hawks were struggling at the beginning of the year, it was because shots just wouldn't go in. The rest of their game was sound. Now, the defense and goaltending are absolutely abhorrent, and the scoring hasn't been all that great either. It's just frustrating always knowing that no one will ever accuse the Chicago Blackhawks of trying every night. When they're on, they're on, but when they're not, they've gotta be one of the laziest bunches of turds in the whole league.

Could be worse, though. The Kings aren't even in a playoff spot right now. The Hawks still need to shit the bed a few more times just to fall beneath Winnipeg and drop into the wild cards. Of course, they do love a challenge.

Crawford is not winning games for us. He is repeatedly looking average at best. While this is disappointing, I'm more concerned about the defensive breakdowns that keep occurring to make him look average at best.

They look bad.

Well I won't mention Crawford or Toews. It is always someone else's fault when the Hawks play poorly. Remember, they won a Stanley Cup (or two), so it would be unfair to ask them to play up to their current contracts. I think it is all Andrew Shaw's fault.

I think Toews is/was concussed a month ago. I don't have a lot of love for Corey but those weren't completely his fault last night.

Shaw's been awful. He's been awful all season sans 1-2 weeks total.

Horrendous defensive breakdowns. Bad turnovers. Bad giveaways. Maybe 2 1/2 of the 6 defenders are playing okay right now.

It's also Mid January

Shaw has been actively bad. Ben Smith has practically ceased to exist. Joakim Nordstrom never existed in the first place. Keith and Oduya have been dangerously brainfart-prone. And Toews hasn't scored in eleven games now.

Yeah, it's only mid-January, but this is the toughest division in the league. We knew that going in. Of course, we thought it would include Colorado and Minnesota, but it's Winnipeg and Nashville now instead. The Ducks get to coast in first because the Canucks and Sharks can't stop fucking themselves and the Kings don't really care. Here, we have all these teams gunning for first place, and the Hawks just don't seem very interested in the chase.

I'm not giving Crawford a pass...he's not playing up to his contract. I'm just saying, the team has consistently fallen apart in front of him. This is very concerning since "Defense First" is supposed to be Quinneville's mantra.

They have not played good hockey

The Crawford contract is almost as bad as Cutlers. The Blackhawks overpaid him and it is hurting the team by limiting available cap space.

That has been my concern with Crawford. I said at the time and have been saying since that Crow and Bicks were bad paper.

On the Toews thing, it is just a matter of me thinking he is not the best player in the league. That is my only comment on Toews.
