Short rant - I'm tired of turning on the news station and seeing BREAKING NEWS for the most mundane crap you can imagine. BREAKING NEWS used to mean something important. If you saw the screen go black in the middle of your show and that BREAKING NEWS or SPECIAL REPORT screen came up, your blood would run cold 'cuz there was some shit going down.

Now, if Drew Peterson makes a joke, it's BREAKING NEWS. I'm tired of it. BREAKING NEWS needs to go away. I don't want to see another BREAKING NEWS flash unless there's a new Electric Boogaloo movie coming out.

MSNBC is awful when it comes to BREAKING NEWS. Every time they come back for commercial, and I mean every time, they flash the Breaking News banner for stupid unimportant crap. I've been bitching about this for a long time but you know it will only get worse as the cable news channels jockey for position in the ratings. Sad.

Espn has this crap on all the time too. Breaking news, michael phelps didnt finish first in qualifier. Breaking news is for huge stories like jay cutler getting traded to the bears and people dying and that is it dammit. I think brett favre has had about 20 breaking news headlines in the last month himself on espn.

The Sun-Times sent me a BREAKING NEWS email last Friday or Saturday that the guy that set the fire at the FAA place and tried to kill himself had, in fact, been fired.

That was a shocker. I'm glad I knew about that the minute it happened because I really thought that guy had a future there.
