Exactly. There wasn't any room under Bernstein's (and Boers) independent report (insert joke) that new management would re-visit the Brandon Marshall decision. It was decided by ownership and that was understood with all prospective GM's (while arguing that the GM will have full control of all but one of your most productive offensive players). They then insulted anyone who thought that they were wrong, or that keeping Marshall made sense and insisted that everyone in the locker room hates Marshall and any reports to the contrary (Patrick Mannelly for example) are wrong.
In my opinion, Bernstein took his hard on for Marshall at the sake of objectivity. He hates Marshall, this came out of nowhere when he gave that press conference, and now Bernstein just stuck to his narrative from that point to where he thought it was logical that a guy he hates so much would be seen as an issue by the team.
I don't believe he has any source telling him anything about Marshall's future, and Boers repeats everything Bernstein says.
