I'd say if you dont have a game in mind.... i'd just wait on buying the system until a game that comes out interests you. The only reason I bought it was I wanted to play battlefield 4.

With ps+ I get 2 "free" games each month and that has kept me plenty busy over the last several months

My initial thought was Destiny. Seemed like a unique idea of an MMO, RPG, FPS all rolled into one.

Yeah, I played Destiny for a month and it was the most grindiest, repetitive slog I've played in a while, and I love RPGs so I don't even mind grinding.

Umm, no. I've made a bunch of friends on the game over the past four months and while we all have our gripes about it, we keep playing because it's addicting as hell and a blast. If you believe the garbage sites like Kotaku and Polygon throw out there every day about how Destiny is the most broken game ever and everyone that plays it is doing the video game equivalent of hate-fucking, you'd be sorely mistaken.

That being said, if you have no intention of wanting to play with other people online regularly, you'd probably be better served with something else. Much of the enjoyment I've gotten from the game has been running with friends, and it makes the grinding KD mentioned much more palatable.

Gamestop had it used for 19 bucks so bought me a PS4 and Destiny last night. Going to fire it up tonight and see what it's all about.

...though I believe the more correct sentiment would be "fuck Activision"...Bungie already done got paid for this.

Put out enough stinkers without Microsoft's backing and the developer folds.

But I'm sure Bungie still gets a bit of revenue per copy sold, as well as bonuses for hitting certain numbers. I don't know what the DLC schedule is for Destiny, but I'm sure they are supporting the game for at least a year from release. Seems to be the minimum for multiplayer games.

Evolve has already announced most of the paid DLC content for the 'first season' as well as a bit from the second. I like them being upfront about it, though many disagree.

Bungie is taken care of until well into the next decade and I guarantee there will be a line of publishers waiting to pick up their next IP whenever they are done with Destiny.

i played the destiny beta and it was enjoyable... but i dont have the time to play grinding type games anymore...

Infamous is good even though I stopped playing right before the final boss battle. It was repetitive, but the mechanics are so fun you don't really mind. Boss battles were a pain in the ass and kept me from wanting to finish and replay. But, definitely worth playing.

GTA5 if you didn't play in on last gen. I'm almost done, fun game. I call it the "Boyhood" of video games in that its more impressive as a technical accomplishment than as a game, but still fun.



Don't get NHL, its supposed to be terrible on this gen.

IN fact, don't get any EA games. they all suck.

FYI the current versions of EA's Madden, NHL and NBA games are on sale on the playstation store... I think they are all around $20. The NBA game is pretty crummy... but the other two might be worth the price if you want a sports game

I played Destiny for a couple hours last night. Lots of fun although I have no idea WTF i'm doing. Got to level 7. I get worked in multiplayer and I keep doing the Old Russia Patrol/Bounty Missions. Maybe I shoudl be advancing the story more? I'm an RPG grinder at heart.

Depends on what you want to play, but generally speaking yes, I would recommend a PS4 over the XboxOne.
