Hey,steroids or not, those are some kick-ass stats Sammy put up.

Gaylord Perry is in the HOF with his spitball but Sosa is a cheat?

I wonder how great he could have been without steroids. He still might have had HOF numbers.

Even with 'roids, he's in the Hall of very good.

Brett does a 10x better job than I ever could expressing it:

That article left out the fact he is the only guy to ever hit 60 or more HR's 3 years in a row. I thought he was a pretty good all-around player (except for defense, which got better over time.) He used to steal some bases and was kind of fast. I often wondered what path his career would have taken before the 'Roids.

That's a fair point. I'm guessing better on the basepaths and on defense for a longer period of time and minus the 60+ home run season.

His offensive peak was outstanding(obviously) he just didn't sustain it long enough.

His numbers are outstanding and yet it's impossible to know what they might have been without the help he got. He actually had a real good throwing arm early in his career and he had good speed too. the PED's took away those things, while it obviously added power. I liked Sammy. He played hard, showed up ready to play every day with a smile on his face and produced. He was fun to watch and in some years where there was little more to cheer about. I do hope the Cubs will bring him back and have a Sammy Sosa day sometime soon. he deserves it.

Need that new wing!

Dont know if anyone heard the show they had on during the summer with one of the guys who runs the place and he says that they usually dont display more than 10% of what they have, so they could easily fill it.
