This was GREAT TV. Every kid in the US should have to watch all 3 episodes of this show once a year! Should have a full revolution day. Overthrow the school! ya know all the fun stuff!

it's been reportedly as wildly inaccurate...the history channel isn't what it used to be. this looks like a really cheap way to get kids to like history. except they're not learning history.

Sorry, that the artsy media types love to shit on anything that isnt a major historical production like GLEE!

I have read all the "Reports" on the "WILD" Inaccuracies about the age of Sam Adams, he wasnt a drinker, Gage wasnt brutal, Britsh law was different than Military law...and a million other things they played up for some TV ratings.

Read some twats review of the show that Washington was not the respected General he was made out to be. Well, guess what twat, and one point he was and Yes, I am aware at some point things didnt go so well and a mutiiny almost did happen, but in 3 night, this is what you got.

Another fave ripping of the movie was "not all signatures occurred at one time, they needed to wait until Novemeber to finish the signatures" or the minimal depth of the Ben Franklin Character

Once again, its TV, they made it more entertaining. They made Sam Adams look like Assasins Creed, yes, but the overall story is fine and the point is more than conveyed.

i really wouldn't be surprised if the "twats" on fox news clamor to this to say this is the reason why we need to go back to our "grassroots" of this country...so we can all be revolutionary ninjas.

i think showing this on TNT or FX may be more appropriate. putting it on the history channel just makes the station look desperate for ratings. it's like the dad who's trying to convince the neighborhood kids that he's cool.

Fine, TNT works, the point being I know some kids that dont have a clue about American history and this at least givs them a better idea. I think making it more accurate, doesnt make it as TV friendly, note even a question about that. Some might say, that looked pretty good living in those days. Probably didnt show enough of the hardships, but once again, better than not knowing.

well i think the point of the criticisms is that it *doesn't* give people an idea about history. like "braveheart". it is one of the most historically inaccurate films ever made. it's damn entertaining but i wouldn't assign it to kids to learn about scottish (or english) history.

After asking my niece and nephew what they knew about the revolution, this show was much more than they knew, even though not sure the first thing you need to learn about Ben Franklin is that he enjoyed hookers on a weekly basis, still think it told a good overall story.

dont let the haters get you down! You will enjoy it.

Did Hancock really say that he signed it so big so "Old King George didnt need his glasses to see his signature?" Maybe

Ben Franklin could have been played by Nicholson , had that kind of feel

history is written by the winners and who's a bigger winner than TV?

readng another review and the complaint was the lack of extras in many of the scenes to enhance the impact of the size of the armies. LOL

I will say I did notice that, but its like Vikings. They only pay so many extras
