This is a serious question. How are they approved to sell food and beer?

I worked at a pizza place when I was a kid. We had inspections. If we didn't have hot water when they inspected, I was told they would shut us down.

Now, the rats in the bleachers can't be the only ones. How are they allowed to sell food?

You can't be serious?

Your entire personna is based upon Bernstein getting to live by different rules.

I guess I'm wrong. Thousands of rats at a food service place isn't a health code violation. Stupid for me to even suggest it might be.

if rauner passes his deunionization laws the inflatable rat business will boom... a decent investment opportunity if you want to rent out inflatable rats.

Food inspections arent really a long inspection and I am sure if there is rat crap anywhere it gets cleaned well before someone gets there. They are big on checking on ceilings and food storgae techniques, dating food, etc. and in the end you get a score, so you can have a violation and remain open, but they will come back to see that you corrected the violation.

That's fine. I know how the inspections work. But here's the thing. The thousands of rats that ran from Wrigley Field just made the news. So it's not a matter of wiping up the rat crap before inspectors come. Rats are there. That's not in dispute. Not that it ever was. But now that this story came out how can they allow food to be sold at Wrigley Field?

If you do a google search, you'll read plenty of stories of the city shutting down restaurants because of rats.

Did they have any interviews with these rats?

Its disgusting digging up old ground in the city. Last place I dug up, I sat in my car and watched the rats run. The neighbors complained to me and I said they arent my rats!

Its chicago.

Ask to go see a basement of any dining place in the city...

Just an FYI there's mice in every building in the burbs.
If you didn't ever see any it's because they're smarter than you are.

So gross. McFeteridge has rat traps in the locker rooms.

And Corgi's are different from Wolves, but they still poop pretty much everywhere.

True. I guess if they're gonna be sticklers with the rats, there would be no place to eat in Chicago.

Yes, but the reporters were not able to ask the tough questions.
The Head Rat had his son sitting on his lap during the press conference.

Not only are there lots of rats, there are also lots of cats that live there. In the spring/summer when the female cats are in heat, the sounds from the cats screwing in the middle of the night is remarkable. Amazing how loud they are. of course, The cats feed on the mice and rats, so they keep that population down somewhat.
