The other side of the story is that they approached LL about this multiple times before and were dismissed.
I guess they didn't want to be "dismissed" - and keep in mind they were right in the end. There is that.

Cheated is an interesting term here. This illegal redistricting was accepted by the others until it wasn't. They played a whole season with them. There is something to be said for them not making a big deal of it at the time. As has been pointed out, all they had to say was "Yeah, it was fine" and none of this is an issue. Instead, after they had already won, then it suddenly became a terrible travesty.

The thing is, if the other leagues had said "Hey, this guy shouldn't be on the team" then JRW may have said "You are right, he won't play".

It's children's baseball, not a war crimes tribunal at The Hague. For those who are so concerned about THE RULES of how twelve year olds play games against each other, I think the best course of action would be to address matters going forward instead of some misguided attempt at "fixing" things that have already occurred.

How many of you can state the process of what you have to do to get these kids certified to play at the most local level of all stars and the process of filling out a affidavit and getting it certified? I am not going to sit here and argue this all day, but apparently they went outside of the rules and the National Little League organization punished them.

Can't bring in the "there just 12 year olds" thing. This wasn't done by 12 year olds. 12 year olds would probably play with/against anybody.

Agree - address the issue as you go forward, but that has to start somewhere, right? LL started that by saying what JRW did this year is not ok. Hopefully they take steps to follow that up now.

You may have it wrong or perhaps I do. I thought the boundaries can be changed if the other affected districts voted to ok that. They changed their boundaries without a vote. This was not found out until later.

Someone with more knowledge can correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the boundries did change but the official vote was a procedural issue that became a big deal once the rival leagues saw just how much attention and money JRW was receiving. That is why it became a big issue well after the other rival teams were already gone.

This is where more confusion comes in.

Supposedly, if the other leagues had said "Yes, it was fine" after the LLWS then none of this is an issue.

Why is JRW seemingly being looked at harder than every other US champ the last 50 years?

Because they took kids from outside their boundaries.

They were cleared in December but an adult who had no chance of winning wasted a lot of time and money to prove that some 12 year old kid lived somewhere else.
