Yes, but it would seem obvious that an All-Star team cannot beat a non-All-Star team "fair and square." On the other hand, I've seen good arguments that JRW should have been allowed special treatment due to economic disparities between their territory and wealthier areas (not counting all the money that flowed in to JRW when they became a national story). Some parents can afford better facilities, trainers, etc., which can perhaps be balanced out by allowing certain teams a bigger geographic area from which to pull. Maybe that will generate changes going forward.

There is a small fraction of adults involved in youth athletics that do it for the right reasons. The gym teacher at our school is a fabulous guy. I mean amazing the way he encourages ALL the kids to get involved. He was the AD for a few years before he got booted by the jackboot parents who demanded more of an emphasis on WINNING.

What a joke.

there shouldn't even be a title.

what would be wrong with a state level title? then 50 teams get to be champions. but then that wouldn't generate nearly the amount of TV cash.

They should hire some businessmen to run the league.

As a parent I wouldn't want my kids to play for any team Daryl or Dennis was managing. He talked to me at the end of last year about getting my son involved. NO THANKS

not as lazy as just assuming other champs cheated because JRW got caught which is basically what you and RPB are doing.

It's not just because they got caught. I played sports as a kid and I'm around people who coach sports all the time. People want to win so bad that they'll cheat. You've been on teams that have cheated in some way. We all have if we played sports long enough.

The EP guy is on now and Grimace went on the offensive because he believes it's sour grapes. Saying his team got "destroyed" (which they did, but his use of the word in his question was pointed). I think the EP guy explained himself well, and I don't think it's sour grapes. Not before or after hearing him. I was glad he completely shot down Grimace's agenda to paint it that way.

Amen to this. Jackie Robinson was a man of great integrity, even while playing for the Brooklyn Dodgers.

Nope, never been on a team that used an illegal player.

In fact, I was cut from the Winnetka Bantam AA team because I was out of district and you could only have 5 out of district players per team. Team Illinois AAA had folded and 6 out of district players tried out for the same team with their Team Illinois coach moving over as well. Needless to say I didn't have much of a chance in that one. I had to scramble and find another team to play for.

If you are saying you believe that every team prior to JRW was on the up and up than you're dumber than I thought

It's a completely valid assumption considering all that we know about little league and what goes on with it. I can personally attest to at least two leagues regularly breaking rules that I played in.
