Go figure that even a line from Mac about Spiegel would be co-opted into Term Bernstein, right?

Evergreen Park Little League Official Hit with Death Threats

Death threats have been aimed at the Evergreen Park Little League official who reported Jackie Robinson Little League’s rule breaking to Little League International. Evergreen Park police have been stationed outside the man’s house, reports DNAinfo Chicago on Wednesday:

Evergreen Park Athletic Association Vice President Chris Janes, who first called for an investigation into Jackie Robinson West’s boundary changes, says he has received several threatening phone calls, including death threats, since the team was stripped of its U.S. title Wednesday.

“We got about 50 messages,” he told DNAinfo Chicago. “I only listened to a few. Some were gibberish ... saying things like ‘You’re an a------.’ A couple said, ‘You deserve to die.’”

» read more via DNAinfo Chicago

These are not death threats.

It's not gibberish either but its Evergreen Park so expectations are lowered.

What is Dan's angle on this? Why is he so passionate about making sure those black kids get what's coming to them? Is it because his kid plays baseball and he's afraid of out-of-district STUDS beating his kid's team?

He just wants FAIRNESS! It's his reason for living!

There's also a weird subtext of how black people should only protest structural racism on his terms.

That's the most racist position one can possibly take- telling black people how they should feel.

We have a winner.

Race relation stories always brings out the worst in the SCORE people. They show their asses. It's bad optics. I mean if it were on TV and not the radio.

It's not a race-related story though. It wasn't, anyway, until those that profit from the racism of reduced expectations (like Jessie and Pfleger) stuck their despicable noses into it.

But, as always, WEST SIDE MIKE is great when discussing race relations. Very eloquent. THE SCORE people should learn from him.

Stock porter-type characters in B&W movies 60+ years ago did more for racial equality than West Side Mike does.

Okay doctor, you tell me what you're confused about - just within the context of this story, I don't have the rest of the month to devote to you - and we'll go from there.

Then he had the nerve to scold parents in fucking Rosemoor for hoping their kids would get scholarship money.

That goes against almost everything he believes in all at once.

I'll be damned...

I'll just offer this. My in house team 5-6 years ago had four kids who are about to enter college on full baseball/academic scholarship at Michigan, Missouri and Indiana. Two others are going to smaller schools on partial baseball scholarships. Another kid has academic rides at Missouri & Iowa and will try to walk on to play baseball there. I believe almost all (except the one girl on the team) played high school ball and all 15 are going to start college in the next 6-18 months.

All except two grew up in the league. All of them had at least one parent/grandparent at every game. All of them were pointed toward college at home and at the park.

Dan Bernstein can kiss my ass.

You go ahead and find one shred of actual, factual, non-anecdotal proof and I'll listen. Until then, it's crying wolf in lieu of any semblance of defense for the actual cheating that occurred.

Is Terry contractually obligated to agree with Dan 95 % of the time?

That is a greater concentration of athletic scholarship money than most high school teams could get. Does the league have some alum type of program to highlight their former players for colleges. I know an adept coach can really make a difference in players of equal talent getting noticed.

the main issue is with a league that purports itself to be the bastion of all that is right, then has ESPN televise 12 year olds for profit. Of course, that's being lost in this uproar.
