I know what you are saying but come on you know as well as I that they knew about this. BTW my reading and comprehension are fine. Thanks.

I doubt you follow that line of thinking in your life. Some things just aren't that important. Youth sports is one of them even if others treat it like it matters.

Besides that, I wouldn't even call this cheating. It was rule breaking. Nobody was cheated. Those teams got their asses beat on the field fair and square.

No they did not get beat fair and square. To be fair and square both teams would have followed all the rules as laid down by the LL. That includes recruitment and fielding the team. By using players they where not entitled to use per the guidelines set down by the rules and regulations that they agreed to, the coaches ,parents and players. All of their games where invalid. Not just the wins but every game. From the little I have heard and read about this today it seems JRW cheating was not confined to just this season and it was something of an open secret. If you read more than just the first paragraph you will find out that the guy running the Illinois district for LL also lost his position because he was running interference for JRW,maybe that is the reason why it took so long for this to happen?
Here is the Sun times article about it
http://chicago.suntimes.com/baseball/7/71/360737/jackie-robinson-west-title-vacated

As for the race issue yup it is part of this ,if it was a white team it would be a blurb hidden in the middle of the paper ,because it is black kids we have the usual suspects crawling out of the shadows to start shit JJ,Phleger,Nas,RPB. Black white purple who cares. They cheated. No one is denying it. All they are crying about is that we are being punished because we are black. So because you are black you want the rules not to apply to you? That is a worse lesson to teach the kids. This will maybe show them that when you try to break the rules that you are supposed to play by there are consequences

We need a backronym for STUDS, by the way.

I happen to disagree vehemently.

They did not win on and off the field.

That team, as comprised, should not have existed.

That illegitimate team won by means of cheating to field a team that they had no right to put together, there is no arguing that plain fact ... ergo, I contend JRW did not win anything any more than if the National League All Starts had put on their uniform and played under that moniker.

They made sure to point out on Ch 9 news tonight that the Evergreen Park coach is married to a balck lady and they have 4 kids.
They also threw in that most of the Evergreen Park team is balcks and hipsanics.

You cannot just pick that out. During the whole run of the year or tourney you have no idea when/where the illegal kids squeaked something out to get them where the got. And again, no one cares a shit about the crying kids they beat on the entire run.

I'm not certain that's correct. I'm not sure the spirit of the rules has been broken even if the letter of them has.

We have a guy here who actually coaches in the league and he's told us most of these kids have played in the league for several years. Are you telling me that some diabolical coach took a bunch of six and seven year olds from all over the place and trained them up to win at Williamsport five or six years later? I don't think that's true.

You have kids from single parent homes, living here and there with grandparents, moving around. Do you really think they should switch leagues constantly to satisfy what a bunch of high and mighty middle class white people think is right?

So go ahead and keep yelling "CHEAT" and take away a title that doesn't mean a damn thing anyway and feel great that we've solved the world's problems and taught people a good lesson.

Not sure what to make of the Evergreen Park snitch being all over media yesterday. At the gym I saw him interviewed on ABC 5pm news. This morning WGN said he also did the Roe Conn show.

He appears pretty proud of ratting out 12 year olds.

The whole concept of travel anything is kind of ridiculous. At least before high school.
I agree. Travel teams are more about the parents than the kids before high school. There is no way a 6th grader would want to do a 6 hour drive to Nashville where all he sees is the car, a hotel, a baseball park, and a token 2 hours of "fun" at a go kart track.

The sad part is how many parents do it in the name of "getting a scholarship" for their 7th grader and the amount of money spent could simply have been deposited into an account that is guaranteed to help pay for college.

This was a big win for them. It is very easy to believe exactly what RR is saying about how they view JRW.

Almost everything you've ever posted here has been wrong. So you resort to personal attacks over frustration with your own stupidity.

You don't know shit about this and neither do most of the people who are commenting on it. I'm not claiming to know much about it myself. But I do know Regular Reader. And I also know that Little League, Inc. has been all over the place on this. At first they issued a statement saying everything was in order. And now they're stripping the title. How could anyone be shocked if they apologized and reinstated it next month?

You like to use the word "cheat" probably because it confirms what you already thought about black people. And I'm not suggesting everyone white person that thinks this was "cheating" feels that way, but that is how it comes off, and so, it's probably best to shut up about it. It's just a little too gleeful coming from some.

Again, we don't know any of the particulars here. But let me give you a hypothetical. Spaulding has a sister who is a year older and they both have sons that are the same age. The two sisters are close and spend a lot of time together. The sister happens to live in JRW district. When the two boys are five years old the sisters decided to start them both in T-Ball at JRW since the sister knows a coach there. Even though Spaulding lives in Downers, nobody makes a fuss over a five year old playing t-ball. Flash forward seven years and Spaulding's kid is King Kong. He is a key guy on the Williamsport team. Do you think that is cheating? A rule is certainly being broken, but I don't see how you call it "cheating".

I don't know the particulars of how the JRW team came together, but there are many possibilities. It's being painted like Butler and Haley went around the south suburbs recruiting a super team to take Williamsport by storm. I don't believe that to be the case.

Finally, you have this wacko in Evergreen Park who is on the Internet SIX MONTHS LATER checking driver's licenses and voter registration. If a member of this board did such a thing we'd call it "creepy". And you know what? We'd be right.

JRW no longer has the title, "U.S. Champions 2014". What is better today than yesterday when they had it?

Let me ask you something, rogue. If your good friend or brother-in-law was coaching a team in Park Ridge and you wanted him to coach your kid, would you see that as cheating? You probably wouldn't be thinking about the team playing in the Little League World Series when you took him over there. Or what if your kid started in a league in Evanston and you loved it. The organization was great and all the guys were cool. You moved to Wheaton and put your kid in there and every guy running the league was a douchebag. So you put the kid back in Evanston even though the drive really sucked. You did it for your kid. Is that really cheating? My take on it is yeah, you know it's technically breaking the rules, but who should really give a shit about it? It's kid's baseball, for God's sake!

To me the extent of this should be like this:

Evergreen Park president: "JRW has suburban kids on that team!"
Evergreen Park parent: "Yeah, those guys suck."
Evergreen Park president: "We might have gotten within ten if those kids hadn't been on the team. "
Evergreen Park parent: "Fuck JRW."

And that should have been the end. But people care way too much.

Yeah, you kinda can't advertise it in bright lights like that.

If you're going to cheat you probably shouldn't go broadcasting it.

JORR,

I get your point, but should Little League have to investigate each team to determine the special circumstances you suggested? In other words, I tend to agree that these kids were not scouted to form a Superteam. But let's say another team did just that, knowing that LL would not enforce boundary disputes. What happens then?

I gotta say a couple things here

First of all, I dont think this situation has anything to do with race. I thought it might have, but I was wrong

Secondly, it's a little ironic that Evergreen Park is having to run from their (and moreso Mt Greenwood) racist reputation

Doesn't it suck when you're prejudged you based on the actions of other people?

I don't know if you can say it is specifically about race, but it is pretty clear that many people hate JRW and are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to take them down.

That's true

And like I posted before, Mulder and people like Mulder mostly think JRW was cheating because the players looked older. Not exactly definitive proof. I mean maybe they were cheating, but who knows.

I was convinced a kid I played against in basketball was older. He looked 8 years older than the rest of us. He ended up being in my class at Marist.

Im sure LeBron looked 25 when he was 12
