I liked when bernstein said sheepishly, "Because he's the goalie".

But I want to point out the not-so-subtle racism. If bernstein takes his kid out of school for hockey, it's his choice and just a day or two a Really Smart Kid is missing and that isn't going to have any effect on his bright future. If a black parent does the same thing, he's negligent and doing a bad job of parenting his idiot kid who needs all the school time he can get. That's obviously bernstein's perception and the perception of lots of white people whether they admit it or not.

Bernstein had a bad day yesterday. He spent most of his time trying to tell blacks how they should feel and behave while acknowledging he has no experience being black. Then he told them how to raise their children. I'm glad the guy called him out on his hypocrisy.

When you get into slaughter situations, you send the kids up there and tell them to just stand there (not swing), but that is only if their pitchers are throwing strikes. Ironically, if the other team cannot throw strikes, then you tell the kids to swing at anything close.

And this is the problem with short bases, you are correct for the Majors division. In intermediate, you take lead offs and steal at any time. LLWS is a joke as it regards the rules because it is so far from real baseball where 12 years are capable of playing with rules closer to MLB.

Majors should only be for 10 year olds.

It's a dangerous game. You need to coordinate with the other coaches before telling a kid not to try. Because of the bad blood between JRW and EP I doubt that was going to happen.

If you are winning team, I'm fine with calling off steals and stuff like that, but you can't tell your guys to not try. Maybe put in your worst kid as pitcher and let him throw a few innings.
