These threads blow this season because it always ends up being a Toews argument. No one ever has called Toews the best player in the NHL. He is definitley one of the best though. He's having a down year offensively but the only year he finished as a PPG player is the shortened season. Also, no one scores in this league anymore. Go look at the leaderboards.

There was a rash of "is Toews, not Crosby, the best player?" pieces after the 2013 Cup win. To be fair, it did kind of feel that way for a while. Not now.

Its the same old question but it still stands. In an open draft of NHL forwards he's go no lower than 5. Ill take that on my team despite his lack of goals scored this year. Fucking Crosby only has 19 goals, he must suck too.

Toews may not be scoring, but he does impact most games with the rest of his skill set. I love watching him play.

I enjoyed the game immensely and saw Toews do quite a lot. Hossa still sharp. Until the shoot out I actually was thinking where are Kane and Crosby in this game.

Yup. Many casual fans don't see beyond scoring goals. Kinda like the casual football fan who only watches the QB, RB & WR's.
The opposite of Toews is Ovechkin. I would rather have Toews...he does more for your team.
