there were some bright spots but overall it was very disappointing that they wasted time on musical acts like kanye (did we need that pretentious display for a reunion show?), and there was very little creativity in the sketches. what about bringing all the major characters back and have them interact in a sketch? like the coneheads meet pat, or the church lady and the cheerleaders, something along those lines. do something with the talent that's there. every time they kept saying "ladies and gentlemen, please welcome..." i kept thinking--this isn't an awards show...it's supposed to be a sketch comedy reunion. anyone who wouldn't know who these people were wouldn't come away thinking they missed anything.

eddie murphy returning could've been something awesome. you've got all the writers there, do some writing!

Was disappointed not to see Dennis there....couldn't be the conservative issue as lovitz, sandler, and norm macdonald were all there....

I think a lot of people do. Maybe my age group.

I enjoyed it too, but there were some weird/awkward transitions or ends of sketches/monologues. Eddie Murphy and Seinfeld's appearances come to mind right away. The biggest complaint about SNL is how long their sketches are. Last night, it seemed like they were catering to keeping it brief, though that had to be due to the fact they had so many people to showcase.

The one exception was The Californians sketch, which went on forever. I've never liked it. Taylor Swift was awful. Had to be the worst performer of the night.

and I dont think there was a ton of rehearsal for this event. Expect it to be rusty.

Great call. It was definitely one of the highlights. They looked exactly the same, too.

Taylor Swift was bad in the skit, yes.

But Armisen, Hader and Wiig always do a good job with those, and it is amusing watching them try not to crack as they deliver and hear the lines.

And if you don't agree, you can take Colorado over to Interstate 10, then take a left onto the 405 and get the hell out of town.

I never appreciated Stefon until I read about how that dude with the failed Fox sitcom was the one writing the cue cards and how Hader had no idea what was going to be on them. Still, you can keep Stefon, too.

I liked the song Sandler and Samburg did, especially the part where they kept referring to Fallon and Sanz breaking. Before it got to that part, I said to my wife, "I don't know why they're not showing Fallon and Sanz. Those guys always laughed during sketches." Then, BOOM, I'm a genius.

Think I read every host was invited, and all cast members with at least 1 year were invited as well.

Overall, liked it quite a bit:

-Eddie Murphy thing was weird. 4 minute Rock intro and Murphy just said incoherrant things for 45 seconds and left
-Actually liked Seinfeld's bit
-JT and Fallon were outstanding
-The Californians was one of the least funny things I've ever seen
-Myers and Carvey still have great chemistry


All in all, with how many generations and characters they had to honor, I thought they did a pretty good job. No way you please everyone.

Kanye, miley, melissa mccarthy, and taylor swift had no businezs being on stage. Waynes world, jeopardy, the politi s montage, seinfeld, and steve martin were awesome.

I thought it could have been better, but overall i enjoyed it.

Taylor Swift pretty much confirmed all the publicly stated thoughts about her lack of depth. She embarrassed herself.

On the other hand, I was impressed with Miley Cyrus. Great rendition of Paul Simon's work and she played it respectfully rather than making it attention whoring.

Eddie Murphy needs to just pack it in if he is going to refuse to be funny anymore. I thought for sure that he would try to shoehorn in some singing.

ENOUGH of the unfunny Fred Arminson work. 40 years of characters and that stupid bit with he and Wig as singers makes the cut? The Californians? Him playing in the backround of musical acts? Send this douche back to his little comedy show that 10 people watch.

John Goodman was wasted.

I really love Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David together. They seem effortlessly funny.

I enjoyed the show but you see that SNL has always been a hit and miss type of show.

Paul Mcartney...No idea how they let him perform, he sounded absolutely terrible...I don't know if he just has no more vocals and that's how he sounds, or is something seriously wrong with him? It was tough to listen to...

I too was disappointed with whatever the hell Eddie Murphy was doing, and the inclusion of non-SNL-relevant Taylor Swift, Bradley Cooper, Melissa Mcartney, KANYE references during the WAYNES WORLD portion was cringeworthy
