Terry just told me as I turned on the stream. Cleveland wasn't interested last Thursday in playing the Bulls.

the only thing that's ever going to stop this talk is the Bulls actually winning a playoff series against the Cavs.

That's how they can keep him on board after retirement: The Score's Apathy Expert Terry Boers.

I find it cute how Danny is now parroting for the Bulls to get Thibs fired.

owners in this town can do no wrong. it seems dan is willing to blindly trust each of the 4 major teams GM/management and is more than willing to act as a conduit for ownership in exchange for "scoops".

i have my problems with thibs and overusing players in reg season, but i also have no reason to trust that gar/pax to make correct basketball decisions...

Especially in this case where making the correct decision (other than keeping Thibodeau) is a near impossibility

We didn't really have a thread yesterday, but was that a beat writer from Oklahoma City that they had on yesterday? I know they were talking some Thunder. The guy said something about how Thunder players are like a bunch of kids who have never been to the real world because of how easy Oklahoma City is on them, and how while there is some criticism of Scott Brooks, it remains pretty tame. He then said, incredulously, "and you guys are trying to get Tom Thibodeau fired!" Dan replied with "It's not that, it's that people believe the relationship is ruined and he will be fired."

So there you go. He's not trying to get anyone fired. That sort of populist pandering is for the Bulldog Bobs of the world. Dan's just reporting the facts.

Considering the most important matchup would be the ECF, still not good enough. Titles. Are. All. That. Matters.

I bet Dan would prefer the Obama library to be in NYC since it would piss off the populists that want the library in Chicago.

Cut the playoff teams down to four teams in each conference (hockey too) and then the regular season would matter. I never understood why fans wanted more playoff teams (i.e. baseball and football) because fewer playoff teams make the regular season more fun.

16 is right for hockey given the number of first-round upsets. The NBA's first round is a death march, though lately it's gotten a little better.

Butler leads the team in minutes per game at 39 which is 1 more mpg than Jordan averaged during the 72-10 year. GET RID OF PHIL !!!!

Terry and Dan split on Cole. Y'know, Danny really thinks the Cubs will be contenders this season in his heart of hearts. This should really be a fun Cubs season with this show. By July Dan's going to be crying uncle.

A little while back this afternoon Dan had to also tell us how the Bears best players are not leaders. Once again Cutler and Marshall HAVE to go. I'd bet this idiots a grand both are on the roster opening game this year.

No. I disagree. Make the regular season a test. You play 82 games, which is enough time to separate the worthy from the rest. The regular season means nothing at this point because anyone decent makes the playoffs.

Otherwise, why have a regular season? Let's just start the playoffs on Day 1 and let every fight it out in elimination style series.

If you let 20 teams into the NFL playoffs, you would a lot of upsets there as well. It doesn't mean you let everyone in.

Marshall has scored 31 td's in his first 3 years as a bear, he was going to get another 1000 yard season this year if not for the injury and while playing through a high ankle sprain for several games.

if john fox cant handle a diva WR then he isnt a good coach... this crusade to get rid of marshall now.... a full 3 years after he was acquired is "ludicrist". they should have been outraged more about his antics when he became a bear because for the most part save for yelling at robbie gould and being a media whore he's not had serious legal trouble.

i personally think he has 1 if not 2 productive years left, i dont subscribe to its going to take 3 years BS that the bears have asked Danny to push on us.... this is the NFL where you can go from good to bad in one off-season.

Not with point inflation it isn't. Do you see how hard it is to finish with fewer than 82 points in a season where multiple teams aren't trying to tank? The NHL regular season doesn't tell you shit, and that's the way the NHL wants it. They want everyone to think they're in it. 30-26-12? Hey, 72 points with 14 games to go, we're right in this thing! (Despite having lost 38 games through five months.)

The NHL used to let 16 teams in when there were only 21 teams. They took the top four teams from the divisions, so all you had to do was not finish fifth (or sixth in the Patrick). Legitimately horrible teams made the playoffs every year. One of them, the '91 North Stars, went all the way to the Final. I don't think the current situation is nearly as bad.

and the bulls are never interested when theyre getting their ass kicked either.

if a team is having a good shooting night during the regular season, the opponent usually quits. its just the way the nba is. every team can be beat by a good shooting night.

the bulls had a great shooting night against cleaveland, so cleaveland just said fuck it.

The regular season only matters to the Bulls, and it's generally about the weaknesses/issues with the team. The regular season doesn't matter to other NBA teams. That's why Bernstein finds it laughable that the Bulls could beat the Warriors in a series; why Atlanta and Cleveland would take care of the Bulls in a series.

They may be right, but it's pretty clear, they don't apply the same scrutiny to other NBA teams like they do to the Bulls.

The Marshall 'inside' reports are just laughable. These two went in 100% that there was no way he'd be back on the team, that ownership told GM candidates that Marshall not being on the team was something they would have to agree to when taking the job, etc. Now, of course, the back tracking is in full gear; Pace now has the final call, and management still hates Marshall, one year after giving him a contract extension. They can say anything they want, and just say management agrees.

They don't watch the other teams. Their basketball knowledge is centered on Lebron worship. They don't watch the NBA. They tell you why Lebron s team will win and why the Bulls will always lose and then they simply take their ball and go home.
