Menace II Society doesnt hold up.

Lots of bad/over acting in that movie.

I don't agree.

I loved it as a kid.

Recently watching it the Grandpa is way over the top

And there is a lot of little things that bother me.

Like O-Dog saying "damn, I was gonna tell you something, but I forgot- oh YEAH, word got back on those fools that jacked you"

He found the guys that killed his friend. He goes to friend's house to see him for first time since hospital and he forgets that he found the shooters? Even forgetting for a split second is not believable.

I know that sounds nitpicky, but in a good film that doesnt happen.

Its still watchable, just not as good as I thought

I haven't seen either movie in years. I imagine that I would find problems with both if I saw them today.

Maybe so. I never dug the grandpa though. I always thought he was kinda over the top.

It was critically acclaimed at the time.

Boyz N the Hood is pretty much perfect, imo

Never liked Menaces ll Society. I feel the same way about it that rpb does. Boyz N the Hood is great though.

question that I have always wondered. Why did Ricky and Trey walk to the store to get the corn meal? Why did they not take Trey's car?

I think it was like two or three blocks away

Plus Ricky wanted to walk off the fight with Dough Boy
