Sharp is in negative-value territory. If the Hawks are set on getting rid of him, it'll cost them retained salary and/or a prospect. They're better off hoping he turns it around next year, like they did with Versteeg this year.

I agree spany but no one expected much imho from Saad and Smith, not like sharp and Richards. But you are right.

Seabrook hasn't been awful like I said but he is brainfarty and had a couple weird ass turnovers tonight and in the last 20 games or so I've found myself yelling at him. Maybe it's just me. But he ain't what he used to be.

Shaw just makes me nuts.

Do you remember saying this a bazillion times last year?

Yes, because they packed it in after New Year's. They had a good run in the playoffs...

Are the playoffs after New Year's? They either "packed it in after NY's" or they didn't.
It can't be both.
I'm just pointing out that losing games in Jan/Feb isn't the end of the world. They pointed that out last year.
However, this team needs to get some shit together, I agree.

I wonder if maybe Bowman finally makes a big(ger) move at the deadline to kick this team in the ass?

No one expected much from Saad? He's a top-six winger in a contract year. People expected a lot from him.

As for Smith, he's never been a point producer, but he's been invisible since, again, New Year's.

Most people expected Saad to continue to progress, which would have put him on the verge of all-star status. He blows this year.

Agree on Smith, but he has always had a knack for getting that ever-so-random goal that helps the team once or twice a year. He hasn't done that, and instead Sharp might do that. IF he picks up his pace.

I just think Saad is still young and developing and he's not exactly the top tier guy yet you see in Toews Kane or hossa or sharp. I'm not thinking anyone was looking for a 60 point guy here ya know?

But guys I agree he should be better.

Tough question... but does anyone get better under Q? I mean... does he ever really develop talent? Seems like the best guys were guys who were awesome from jump street anyway.

Q has won 2 Cups.
The previous 40 guys won........................................................................................................................................................

But seriously, he gets no credit for

Kane (has he not gotten better?)
Keith

Even guys like Kruger, Hammer, Saad (got better before this year), etc?

That's not his job. The Hawks will have been a perennial contender from 2009-2015. Players have to come ready to contribute. I would say that plenty of players have improved on trajectories they may have already been on: Kruger, Saad, Smith. I can't think of anyone Q has taken under his wing and really made better, but again, that's not his job.

How would you like me to feel about eight games at home against teams you should beat. Tell you what, I'll keep doing my bit and you keep doing yours about your hordes of imaginary people who hate Les Grobstein and want him fired.

It appears that I have struck a chord! I didnt realize that Les Grobstein plays for the Hawks.
I don't believe that I ever said that there are hordes of people who want Les fired. I did say that all of the hosts & producers at WSCR think that he is a joke & laughing stock. That is not a bit...its the truth, & it is on display on a daily basis on The Score.

But back to the Hawks...they will be fine. The #1 seed in the NHL very seldom wins the Stanley cup. Just get in the playoffs & get hot.
