I think Hahn wears his Cubs hat to bed at night during spring training.

Kenny wears his "I found Jose Abreu" T shirt

Remember that a leading opinion of Sox Nation is that you cannot trust what the Front Office says.

Sox nation has a long hate list. Many people have been out to get the Sox for years and years. That pecota guy especially!

Even your leader on the Cub parade Bernsie noted that for some weird reason Pecota underestimates Sox.

Now that is special. Do you wear your tinfoil Cubs hat when you go to the games, or just when you post here bigfan?

I don't want to misunderstand you but what does a big and long run mean?

Money, Wins, Playoff races......

God, I hope this sacrifice/tank job was worth more than playoff races.

if they play Electronic Dance Music, what are the odds the rally monkey will also make an appearance with Jump Around, playing??? Or maybe a rally Bear Cub??? Not suggesting it. In fact, I hate the EDM idea altogether. But if they are gonna play that funky music, white boy.....it could happen...

The Sox are getting some pretty good accolades too right now. Don't think that is an issue.

Have you ever met Kirkwood or bigfan?

The soon-to-be Haves and the soon-to-be Have-nots. :)

I wish both teams could be discussed by everyone objectively. I tried with a thread in the Sox subforum last year. You participated. No one else did. It flopped. People would rather troll since they don't follow both teams close enough to speak intelligently.

I'll see what I can do.

The fact that the Sox have caught the Cubs with a great offseason should help.

By definition any "big and long" run by the Chicago Cubs would be historic.

Or the White Sox (unless they had a big long run that Im forgetting....it's possible.)

Well, no one is predicting a "big long run" for the White Sox

Sure they are. You just ignore those people.

Oh......

I realize that for fans of a team with the great and powerful victorious tradition that the Chicago NL Baseball Club enjoys 88 wins per year for seven years is nothing and the expectation is for nothing less than multiple World Series championships.

I dont think anyone here has ever said the Cubs have a winning tradition

There are some fans in this city that mistakenly believe they're team has a winning tradition, but it's not Cub fans.

What more can reasonably be expected for any MLB team other than the Yankees?

I have been giving the Sox credit. I think Hahn has done a great job so far.

He has a car thread with a 1000 pages. He's the only one that posts there, but it's still 1000 pages.

As discussed before, for the unprecedented tanking to be worth it, the Cubs need to be IN the WS at least twice in the next 10 years, or MAKE the playoffs 6 or 7 times (not be in a playoff race, but MAKE the playoffs). Anything less is a failure.

How is tanking a couple seasons in order to rebuild "unprecedented"?

That isn't really objective. The Sox are winners over your lifetime. Do you expect them to be the Yankees?
