Why am I not suprised that a nimrod like JORR is spelling guy on the message board.

JORR, my secretaty left for the day, please proof this, and have on my desk in the morning. After that, feel free to leave. Don't forget to make the coffee when you get in tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

This should have a question mark at the end of it.

Something tells me that .419 BABIP number that a known fatass like Abreu had in the second half isn't going to be there for the duration of his career...

The 2007 NL MVP wasn't even in the top ten of MLB in WAR.

WAR. What is it good for?

Hey dummy, you opened the door by criticizing the article RPB posted over a simple typo. And by the way, you misspelled "comparative" twice. You're welcome.

JORR, how can you not understand the difference. I'm some jackass posting shit on a message board. Nobody should be using this to support an argument. That's why I'm relying on B-R and Fangraphs, and not my own home brewed analytics. RBP relied on some "published" analysis, I don't know about you, but if that analysis can't even be edited properly, it probably isn't worth much.

Don't you think there should be a higher standard for published analysis in comparison to a guy like me banging my head off a keyboard? I will say I am not surprised that you cannot comprehend the differing standards for spelling, grammar, etc.

I don't think one or two minor typos or grammatical errors necessarily takes away the credibility of an MLB published article. There are some REALLY.SMART.PEOPLE. here that make spelling errors in their posts. Doesn't take away from the point they are making.

Of course you would, though, because it goes against your argument.

Or is it MVP voters, what are they good for?

Not for nothing, and in light of the thread I truely hope this is the resonse that you wanted, although having seen your thought process here I doubt it, but it would be too much fun not to post.

Rizzo 5.1 WAR
Abreu 5.5 WAR

Not sure how that is far superior.

Well I was pretty sure you got it, that was more of a hat tip to your nice response.

Correct on the secretary, not since 2010, and even that was shared. Although now that I have JORR on the payroll to comb my important CSFMB.com posts, I might have a secretity again.

Can I get a ruling on this?

Of course you're not sure. And of course the MVP voters are the problem. It certainly can't be that you are the problem....you just have it all figured out!

I thought your were going to Johnson Space Center to talk some sense into them? You'd better hit the road. Thats a pretty long haul.

This wasn't a misplaced comma, it was substituing At Bats for RBIs. I think that is a pretty big error. An error that I would assume an author would be pretty embarrassed about, and one that an editor would be absolutely ashamed about missing. That substitution At Bats for RBIs probably trends more towards poor fact checking vs. a spelling error, an even more egrgious error.

That said, I'm fairly certain that blog is edited by nobody but the misinformed guy posting the articles.

Again, we have been over this before. I didn't create WAR. I'm just looking at the objective data. Not sure how my reference of WAR means I have it all figure out. If you have a problem with WAR it is the smarty pants guys at B-R and/or Fangraphs that you snidely think have it all figured out.

Also dumb fuck, I live in Houston, so the haul isn't all that long. And you are the piece of work ripping me for assuming that I have it all figured out. Ironic.

Also, I went to CSFMB.com and I don't believe there to be any White Sox fans there. Or sports discussion.

On the WAR analysis I have B-R, and Fangraphs on my side. You have something called a "Boilermaker Rick" a "Frank Costanza", and a "Hatchetman" on your side.

I'm ok with how the sides have been drawn up.

How can that be? They don't even agree on WAR.

Alex Gordon 8 year career:

Fangraphs WAR = 26.8
BR WAR = 28.6

Just a regular bunch of Hatfields and McCoys I tell ya...

Those numbers do not agree with each other.

That would be saying that .280 BA and .290 BA are the same.

I think we know where we all stand on this issue.

Is WAR a perfect measure of comparitive value? No of course not. Is it the best most accurate comparitive instrument we have at this point that encompasses all facets of the game. Sure is. I'll prefer to error on the side of the guys at fangraphs and/or baseball reference instead of the clown car of White Sox dumbass fans on CSFMB.com.

Do you want me to post more articles about it?

dWAR is a problem, its well known and so is the Lawrie example. Everything I said was rght .

Glad we could clear that up

I'm not a Sox fan
