It seems that there is a real possibility that it was investigated through interviews with the alleged victims and it was determined there was no need to proceed. As was mentioned in the article, those interviews must be kept confidential by law.

It wouldn't answer why he was suspended, though. Unless that investigation led to some other irresponsible behavior being discovered.

I generally hate hypotheticals, but... what if the kid did some stuff that was just bad enough to get him kicked off the team, but not bad enough to kick him out of school, or even jerk his scholarship? And now, under this scenario, a situation that should be kept in-house to protect the privacy of the kid and the girl(s?) involved gets blown into public view because some school newspaper weenies have a hard on for Krzyzewski. That would suck.

Yeah, I think so. I remember a time when he was talking about the realities of depression by way of David Foster Wallace's suicide and how mere existence had become too painful for DFW. Goff said something ignorant like how brothers don't commit suicide because white people are trying hard enough to kill them. The argument didn't go anywhere fruitful from there, as anyone who's broached the issue with IMU can attest.

I had no idea Dan was a DFW correspondent, or even a fan, when I joined the board. I was going to start a thread about how DFW dropped a reference to listening to Bears postmortems on the Score in his 9/11 essay, but I thought he was talking about Doug and OB. I remember when the Mitchell Report came out back in '07, Bud Selig made some remark about how he was intending to read the whole thing but hadn't gotten around to finishing it yet.
