Here is the question that needs to be asked and answered by the SCORE bosses.

Let's say 5 years ago, before Bernstein changed into the false source guy/gossip guy, if you were to ask Mitch and Zim if they would allow reports of Chicago athletes cheating on their wives to be broadcast on the air, what would their answer have been?

We'll never know. But I'll bet you their answer would have been "No".

Bernstein has taken over the station. We know that. He's bigger than Mitch at this point. Not bigger than Zim but Zim doesn't pay attention until he needs to pay attention. Now is that time.

But I find it amazing that Mitch and Zim don't question Bernstein after he starts this path. Like after the first day he went with this. It turned into 3 days. That they don't even discuss this with him. Also find it amazing that Dan has the untouchable view of himself where he feels he doesn't even need to ask his bosses.

If the rumors are true or not is not the question. The fact that he has autonomy to broadcast it is the question.

Jim Rome makes 25 million a year from CBS. I'm sure he hears shit. He would never do what Bernstein just did. Nor would he be allowed. Yet Bernstein is. It's amazing. Why?

Because they let him slowly reach this point. No checks or balances as the monster grew. That's why.

Like I said, I think policy changes are coming after this though. I think this was the slap in the face Mitch and Zim needed. They've been lucky with Bernstein. The luck ran out.

Spot on. That is why they always alluded to personal knowledge of sports figures but nothing like this. Bernsie does wtf he wants. Mitch is not a program director in any sense of the word.

I didn't think so in his last years here.

Must have been early in his stay in Chicago for that to be 100% true.

This will end up being one of those turning points in Dans career.
Like before and after, ya know?
Like Mac's is probably when he got suspended calling that chick a bitch on air.
And Chets might have been that parking lot ass whooping he got.
Harrys might have been the kiss my sack mac moment.
Tom Sherrer might be the mouthful of Mini Wheats.

  When I heard that I remember thinking "Oh boy that's not good" and he was gone like a couple weeks later. Or so my memory says. That being said my memory isn't what it once was.

I said it earlier. Lots of guests in the B&B section. 30 a little bit ago. More than usual. Especially for this time of night. Score people for sure.

Hello Mitch. Cheers. :D

Agree. If that recent Derrick Rose racism stuff from a couple months back that the chick from Vibe found out about didn't amount to anything, this won't either.

Like I've said, that doesn't matter. He's still hurt the station. He's hurt himself as well.

But right about what? I mean he does his Bernstein thing where he hints at stuff without saying it. His number one goal is to protect himself while telling salacious stories.

Sharp cheated on his wife. More than once. I think we all know that. The blog gave details. Bernstein just lead you to an obvious conclusion. With that slow authoritative voice talk.

Bernstein also intimated that the Hawks were trying to trade Sharp.
Didn't happen.
And I think management came out and said they weren't shopping him.

And we'll know by March 12 if he was full of shit about Cutler.
He was full of shit about firing trestman after the green bay game.
Though anyone alive could accurately predict that he'd be gone after the season, I still call that a loss and more bullshit reporting.
He's just throwing shit at the wall to see if anything sticks.
I know he's not a "journalist" but come on man.
What's sad was that until the last 6 months I fucking loved this show. Now it's becoming a joke.

I just heard the tranny.

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/boers-and-bernstein-show/

Dan is still trying to tell the story he was trying to tell last week.

"THIS IS BIGGER THAN HOCKEY", Bernstein said. Then some other words in his typical cryptic tone.

I picked up on it last week. He's trying to say that Sharp lead to the equip guy killing himself once he found out that Sharp was doing his wife. He's still trying to get this message out. Without actually saying it, of course.

The blog didn't report this one.

He could very well be right. Not doubting that ,the problem is the way he is doing it. He is technically slandering and doing it in a sleazy way. As someone said in this era of nearly 100% cellphone camera coverage where is the proof? Let us look at what we have concrete so far:
Bernzie was doing his little gossip shit for three days(further if you count the Cliff Rieff shit)
Sport Mockery has a front page story about it naming Dan as a source.
Story goes city wide making most of the newscasts about problems with the Hawks locker room.
Over the weekend it starts getting a life of it's own as Sharp throws out the word lawsuit, Scott gets involved and it starts to get out of control to a point.
Monday Score personal through both Twitter and on air mostly try to defend/defuse situation as it concerns Da
Sports Mockery is dropped as a sponsor(Whose decision was that? Obviously not Mockery as it hurts them more than Score.)
Dan right here has caused the Score harm both fiscally and reputation wise. Fiscally the lose the money from Mockery(not that much ) but reputation mostly for the smaller entities(local) agencies they deal with by showing them that they value teir people more than their sponsors. This is also causing strain between the Score and Hawks, right now the are the only bright spot in Chicago sports landscape.
Today Bernsie was mostly silent but his idiot partner was making some ugly comments about one of the females involved, not good.

I do not know much about how CBS radio works corporate wise but if they are anything like ABC or Cumulus they is probably going to be some management shakeup at the least. When does Dans contract come up for renewal? Should be interesting.

I think right now with the cloud surrounding Sharp and if he is habitual about his philandering he is untradeable

If Clint Reif did in fact commit suicide because Sharp was doing his Wife, that is a hell of a thing that Sharp has to live with the rest of his life.

I don't think that stops a team from getting a piece (if you'll pardon the expression) that could bring home a cup.

I don't think if something like that happened he'd mention him at all.

Regardless. You have to agree that intimating that Sharps actions led to a suicide without having concrete proof goes beyond bad journalism... it's sleazy and mean spirited and extremely selfish. Disgusting actually.

What is even worse on an uncountable magnitude is the people who supposedly are his immediate bosses allowing him to continue with it. I am shocked that he has not been on a couple day vacation due to this already. I would say CBS corporite has far bigger issues at the Score than just Dan and his slimy mouth.

I don't want to post it but a pretty quick google search will provide you with a photo of the woman that Patrick Sharp allegedly couldn't keep his dick out of. You guys be the judge if you think he would chase her.
