Terry says, "our sister station is the home of the Cubs. FOR NOW!"

interesting.

Sure, blame the Mexican, not the tribesmen who didn't plan properly.

sure... the mayoral race could be blamed... or the simple fact that the HEAVY CONSTRUCTION is taking place literally across the street from residential homes.... what a dope

Does anyone doubt for one second that Lil Danny and incoherent noises wouldn't be rolling out a similar disclaimer on how they can't comment if a similar situation occurred at the Score like the one at Duke?

I've been trying to listen to the show more and more lately, but I can't do another Penn State thing, and that's clearly what they are trying to turn this Duke situation into, regardless of how few parallels there are between the two.

Also love Dan teasing the reading of the AD's statement with "we'll read the statement and let you interpret it however you like" and then read the statement and proceed to tell you why there are holes in said statement.

I know posting in this thread outs me from the super secret "I say I don't listen to the show but I really do because I enjoy the sports radio equivalent of shoving a cactus up my ass for 5 hours every day" but I really did turn off the dial when I got back in the car after a quick stop at the store and they were still going on about "THE MOST POWERFUL MAN ON CAMPUS" and Terry telling us "dude...blah blah blah...in my world...blah blah blah...eee eee eee"

Well, considering their employer and their legal team would want - and subsequently get - tighter control over what's said, I fail to see whatever it is your point was supposed to be.

Rahm said he has to talk to the Alderman who respond to the community. I honestly don't think Dan is reaching here.

He does, but he's adpoted dan's idiotic position that the league was made up of white cripples who couldn't walk or jump until Jordan arrived.

This makes little to no sense. Why would Rahm deny a 24/7 permit for a ludicrously popular sports franchise to finish work on their ludicrously popular ballpark? Does he want to win? The runoff is on Apr 7, wouldn't it be a nice bump in the last week of the campaign to be able to point to a somehow finished (and ruined, but w/e) Wrigley Field and be able to say "I made sure this could be done by now"?

This denial seems a lot more like Rickett's biting the hand that feeds than it does posturing for an election.

It's a ridiculous premise being advanced by bernstein. The 44th Ward is going heavy for Rahm no matter what his decision was on the extended hours. And I highly doubt anyone in any other ward gives a fuck about it.

Even further, the ultimate decision on such issues is deferred to the local alderman and not the mayor's office. Rahm didn't even make this decision...but unsophisticated Dan would have no idea about those procedures.

Unsophisticated Dan has no idea about long held protocols involving construction hours in largely residential areas.

The boys outside of Bernstein Esq.'s office must be amused.

Where do you think Phase I of Rickettsville ranks on total investment in the city right now? I would bet the current phase of renovation is comparatively tiny. Yet heaven and earth were supposed to be moved for the project.

Here is the MUCH more likely scenario: Cubs asked for the dispensation for public relations reasons. They knew it would be rejected because it is both illogical and fairly unprecedented. Above and beyond all this THEY WANTED IT TO BE REJECTED because the 24 hour work would have increase costs well beyond budget.

Remember when this was a show that was skeptical of everything offered by those in power?

What the hell happened here?

These guys were iconoclasts in the not too distant past. I feel like I'm watching a hippie who became a hedge fund manager.

I can think of a few reasons based on where those in power spend their Saturdays or Sundays.

Honest answer: When this plan fails to get results the next two years (it will fail to get results the next two years, it may work eventually but it takes time) he will do a complete about-face on the Cubs org. He knows which way the wind blows, he'll do exactly what he did with Emery/Trestman.

That isnt an honest answer but rather a wrong answer. This new rebuilt Cubs organization is on the cusp of greatness!

Did.Not.Happen.

Bernstein has pretty much always been a servant of power. He began his career by criticizing Wannsted, but since then he's played the role of ownership's puppet quite well.

interesting.

With the new CBS cross platform partnership with the Cubs, and the White Sox in the last year of their contract with WSCR, I think WBBM is just a bridge to the Cubs moving to The Score in 2016.

This is probably why Berns is slurping the Cubs organization.

I'd be fine with the Cubs on the Score from a listening-to-the-radio standpoint. I mean, the Yankees are on WFAN now, so nothing's sacred anymore. 780 just has a lot of interference whenever I try to listen.

Speaking of 780, Regine Schlesinger's voice reminds me Adam Hoge in that they both often sound like they're experiencing intestinal discomfort while speaking.
