I will buy no fewer than five (5) of these. Awesome. No more having to move the PC to living room TV when a group of folks want to watch / play a PC game.

That is a really good idea -- console solution for non console people.

I agree this is a really good idea...makes a lot more sense to me than the steam box...people with Steam already have a device to play games on.

all its doing is sending your steam content over the network. you still need a computer running steam and powerful enough to play the games. likely has low latency, which would be necessary. but you can send your hdmi out of your computer over ethernet with that adapter, and then your game controllers with that usb over ethernet.... same thing!

Many? Having a gaming PC is really just for one person. I have a 28", but that still doesn't work well when playing games with friends or anything...one office chair, desk, etc. So I've moved my PC to living room several times in the past.

I guess I missed the part where the ethernet cables you would need to use to facilitate this transmit all these signals wirelessly.

well there are wireless models too. if thats what you want. steam link can do both wired and wireless. i would strongly suggest wired if you want a reliable experience.

the real attraction to the steam link that i can see is the price point. $50, nothing can touch that for what it does. I do wonder if you can use it as a generic video transmitter... could be really handy even if you dont play games

its a good reason to run a whole house in multi-mode fiber when you build it. it eliminates any problems in the future with what you want to do...

Many people who cut the cable cord have PC's run their living room media. It makes sense. Sorry you're a philistine.
