According to tweets by Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Cubs have agreed to a minor league deal with Coke, who will report to major league camp.

Coke, 32, has a lifetime 4.16 ERA in seven seasons with the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers. Coke has limited left-handers to a .243 batting average.

J.Hamilton is the spokesman. He takes the "Raines" from Tim 90's, Doc Gooden and Daryl Strawberry 80's.

I would have worked in Keith Hernandez but well done

Coke's numbers from last year are decent

Bryant's already walked and scored a run. I don't see how this team can be stopped.

That's for 1989. The hit was ordered by Mike Bilecki no doubt. Somewhere, Kevin Tapani is mulling over what to do to Freddie Freeman.

All this, and they tied and lost in split squad games today.

They won the draft world series and are well on their way to the spring training title.

Time to re-evaluate. I'm thinking the Reds of 1990 after today's final results.

Cubs prospects already contributing. Black kicked Pence out of the lineup 6-8 weeks.

Olt, save it..he will get one more shot for 30 days....if I was him, I would leave AZ early and start hitting in cold weather to see what happens.

Always a bad thing when your hitting catcher keeps hitting....

Prospect experts around the country are really sweating this one out. Or not. Just write another epic poem for the next can't miss guy.

Perhaps this is where the idea of having many well regarded prospects comes in handy? If one doesn't work out there are other that could?

I don't know. I'll ask pittmike.

I think the issue was more with posts like this.

That post seems to say that thinking they will ALL bust or ALL be awesome is wrong. I agree with that.

Baez really seems like the guy who best chance at being a bust. Its almost amazing how many times he swings and misses. Usually don't see that from a righty. Normally is the lefty sluggers who strikeout at a crazy rate.

Maddon and Mallee visiting Baez in Puerto Rico to whisper sweet nothings doesn't seem like it worked. He is only 22 though. Plenty of time left.

The post is a bunch of double talk. It acknowledges that only 19% of all prospects ever play a major league game (and that includes the likes of Gordon Beckham and Kevin Orie) and makes the tacit assumption that the Cubs will outpace that number and at least some of their prospects will be awesome.
