About 10 seconds from now.

I think him and Fox realize they need to build this team pretty much from scratch. Given the lack of talent on the roster, the WRs in this draft, and the brutal schedule the Bears have next year I do not see them winning more than 6 games.

It's a always a good day when you can unload your best player at any position (arguably, when healthy) for a 5th round draft pick because you don't like his personality. Is this guy an NFL GM or rush chair for the Tri-Delts? This is bigger than spring formal.

This will expose Jeffery. Dude's a lazy Robin. Should be able to sign him cheaper now.

We gave up a guy who was probably the best wide receiver this team has ever had for a 5th round pick?
Who is going to fill the position? Marquez Wilson?
Doesn't Marshall still cost us 5 million against the cap too?
Seems like we just traded 5 million dollars for a 5th round pick and still are short a starting wideout.
Go figure!

This is his 4th team in his career, and he has yet to play a postseason game. Its very clear that he is good, but there are other issues that have kept his teams from being successful.

Admittedly, the most talented WR in team history. I think his mental situation makes him a short shelf-life at any team. Sad, but I can't help but think this was addition by subtraction regardless of his talent level.

Besides...not going to the playoffs anyway, so blow it up.

This move is largely meaningless unless the Bears unload Cutler in the next week or so.

True, but it carries with it the same kind of hollowness that comes with a politician running unopposed.

The fact that all the Bears could get for Marshall was a 5th round draft pick proves what the rest of the NFL teams think of him.

When is the last time a veteran was traded for a high pick?

Patriots got Moss for a 4th

The Bears used a 3rd to get Marshall.

And if someone will take Marshall, it makes it more likely that someone will take a flyer on Jay.

Correct .... that Marhsall is a big enough pariah on and off the field that his value is steadily approaching nil.

It would be funny if even the Jets didn't want Cutler.

The Bears used a 3rd to get Marshall.

They used two 3rd round picks but remember that these kinds of trades are all about age.
That trade was done three years ago.

Two 3rds and assumed his $9M salary

That was in 2007 and Moss was only 30.
A Pats 4th round pick is really almost like someone else's 5th round pick anyway.

Nothing ages better than a bottle of '52 Bollinger except for NFL Wide Receivers, especially the looney-tunes ones.

I don't thin they can get anything for him. I'd bet most teams believe we will cut him. It was so stupid not franchising last year.

A big part of the reason the person who made that decision is looking for employment

From a salary cap perspective, it is better to cut him than it is to trade him.
