This guy better win quickly. If not, he's ripe for the media turning on him. All that clown college stuff is funny if you're a winner. If you're losing, you're just a clown. I can't wait for the first clubhouse penguin sighting.

This whole thing is already ripe for going down in flames!

After Baez crashes and burns it's all down hill!

What media? One of the hard hitting Ricks? (Morrisey or Teleander?) Berns & Boerstein? Jesse Rodgers or Bruce Levine?

I'm not disagreeing with your premise of 'it's all fun and games" as long as your winning, but I just don't view Chicago as a tough media town that can or will run Maddon outta here. Some might argue Piniella, but I think he wanted out on his own.

Well, Maddon is in the midst of his media honeymoon and Mully and Hanley were already grumbling about his goofy "Cubs University" statements. All of this stuff would have been ridiculed if it had come from Renteria.

Exactly right. Gotta love the Cubs envy from the minor league organization on the south side.

They cheer for the Cubs. They're capable of turning on specific Cub employees.

There's the dumb envy statement again. What would there possibly be to envy? A losing team and half a ballpark?

It sometimes seems like you follow the Cubs more than the Sox.

It's hard not to. They get more airtime and more column inches.

Are you the Southside Bob who use to call in to complain about media coverage?

I don't. The Cub fans attitude toward the Sox is sort of like a guy driving a Hyundai believing he has a better car than the guy driving an Acura.

It bothers some fans that they dont get the coverage that the Cubs do. Not sure if that's envy or what you want to call it.

No. I've never called a show. They can't hang up on me here.

That "half a ballpark" that is missing has more fans then the Sox average per game.

Were over here building a car from scratch and you're driving by (with mad exhaust fumes) every 15 minutes in a 97 Buick Celebrity yelling that our car will never see the road!

I was pretty sure you weren't. It was just a reference to the column inches. "Southside Bob" would call in frequently with that very complaint.

Ricketts is going to be disappointed if they don't win the division.

Joe Maddon's seat could be hot after one year!
