well, then you already lost as Theo tampered to get Maddon

This is probably the lowest of all your repeated refrains.

JORR is actually getting at something here that makes the Cubs seriously hateable (and not just whatever weird adult-manifestation-of-autism hate I have for them). There's a little bit of a notion that they've already got it in the bag, playoffs this year are a given and from there its just a matter of time. It's not about winning it in whatever organic way it will happen, its about Wrigley "being ready" and winning it at home and making sure NOBODY FROM THE ROOFTOPS OR ISN'T AT LEAST WORTH $10M is involved in it. Edwin Jackson is not allowed to be on the WS championship team (for he is black, and these are Cubs fans), but Kyle Schwarber must be on the roster (for he is from a Big Ten school, and these are Cubs fans) getting regular AB.

Whatever. I just consider the Cubs a goofy organization. Can you imagine the shit that would be said here if the Sox held a bunting tournament in which Williams and Hahn participated? This is clown stuff.

Yeah, I would not be butthurt about it or give two shits. Honestly, who thinks likes this? Who cares, relax junior.

Butthurt? Who is butthurt about the ridiuclous concept of GMs playing bunting practice with a big league team? This is more teflon Theo. Kenney is ridiculed for wearing a Cubs jersey. But Theo is playing pretend ballplayer and nobody says shit. It's a clown organization.

That is some Trestman-level nonsense. Every ballplayer on the team has to awkwardly watch the guy who could fire them on a whim meander his way through bunting practice. This does not foster togetherness, anyone with a boss rolls their eyes at stunts like these.

Obviously, Epstein knows how to put together a ballclub, but there is a not-so-subtle hi-fiving, fantasy baseball informed, frat boy culture at work in his organizations. When I hear about Theo and Jed drinking beers with Maddon outside his RV I picture Beavis and Butthead drinking with Anderson.

The bunting thing is not a big deal to me. It is kinda silly but that is ok for spring training.

It IS a game after all. (despite what Dan Bernstein says)

Maybe we need to delve deeper into what drove Theo out of Boston. Not the narrative but the real story. People need to ask the tough questions.

But if Kenny and Hahn were taking spring training with the Sox, you have to admit it would be ridiculed. Hell, B&b would have probably turned it into a meme.

You know it, I know it, Sox fans know it. Only a certain segment denies this.

It is the feeling I got in the previous page of posts that Sox fans are only envious and paranoid that things like this occur or would occur. But it is clear to many that Jorr's scenario would absolutely happen in some media, some Cub fans and radio 670 for sure.

Len just stated Cashner left the game with a trainer. Guy fires missiles but always has something.

Motte firing 95mph. Nice.

Most people accept it was a deteriorating relationship with Larry Lucchino. And by all accounts, Larry is not the easiest person to get along with.

Schwarber was catching yesterday.

Quote:
Kyle Schwarber caught a good portion of the game, and I was glad to get a chance to see him back there. I could definitely tell that some of the receiving mechanics were new to him (example – he’s a little slower to turn the glove over on pitches in the dirt than you’d like to see him), but his crouch and the way he received pitches looked to my untrained eye like he was serviceable back there.

Hey, the guy can crouch better than an Asian in a rice pattie.

Change crouch to crotch and that sentence still works.

Today's line-up:

1.Tommy La Stella, DH
2.Junior Lake, LF
3.Arismendy Alcantara, CF
4.Jorge Soler, RF
5.Javier Baez, 2B
6.Kris Bryant, 3B
7.Welington Castillo, C
8.Chris Valaika, 1B
9.Addison Russell, SS

The best hitter is probably on the mound in Travis Wood.
