Anyone else having Chrome issues lately. PC is fine and I have done all the requisite cleaning, malware scans, DNS server changes and so on but just seems to take a year at times to go from one page to another. E.g. going from CSFMB to FB and back is just a chore. Once at some page it operates fine. Not a IP speed issue or anything either?

maybe google already started routing every request from chrome through their servers? They want to have all internet traffic in the US routed through their servers.

try this:

open the command line/prompt as administrator

type "netsh"

next, at the netsh> prompt type

"winsock reset"

restart computer.

You can also try clearing cache, etc:

Not that problem. But I always have to reset my home page on chrome. Don't know why. It just defaults to the "open the new tab" page as my on start up every now and then. Not that big of a deal. Just annoying.

Already did all the cleaning. will try the winsock reset after a currently running scan ends.

Alt+F4 will force a memory clean for Chrome.

No viruses will ever get past him and make it to the O.S., that's for sure. The farthest they will get will be his desk drawer.

I used to be a huge fan of Chrome but it has become bloated and slow. You can disable some extensions to make things better but Google has mismanaged it so they could turn it into an operating system.

I'm really close to switching back to Firefox since it is actually faster now.

This. I made the switch back to Firefox two weeks ago.

I never left, so I'm clearly better than both of you.

At the time I left Firefox maybe 5 years ago they slacked off dramatically.

Chus trying Firefox now. Seems ok. I got the Chrome going better. It must store a shitload of cache/history/hidden shit because it took a while to empty.

Chrome kicks ass on Linux, as well as Windows 7. Am using the 64-bit version on both OSes (version 41)

Just did a hard shutdown to update the computer and now it seems like a bunch of my browser text got smaller, mostly in gmail.

Browser settings issue. Maybe the zoom is isn't set correctly.

Also, if you're using Windows 8.1 are you using the Chrome App or the actual standard Chrome browser that you'd access via the desktop?
