Dan Bernstein: tough on cancer, even tougher on the addled elderly.

I have mixed feelings on this as well. The sound drop of him bemoaning the White Sox cracks me up everytime though and it did sound like they were nice to him, buying him lunch and giving him a seat at the booth with them for awhile.

Buying an old man a cheeseburger and feigning niceties is enough to offset literally HOURS of mock programming using his impairment(s) as fodder is an even trade off? I say nay, and these guys are still incredible hypocrites.

All I can say is that if Bernstein's dad were some retiree who confusedly called into a radio talk show, and the host(s) mocked him the way that these guys do to Bob, Bernstein wouldn't be giggling along. He'd be pissed. He'd write an angry, not so well constructed, blog post about it then would get on the air and absolutely "shred" these LCD morning zoo hosts for having to lean on an addled old man as material for their stupid radio show.

As it is, it's just a cryin' shame that this show isn't heading to Boston for the Finals - would be real LULZ hearing them stuff Bob on a Greyhound with a prepaid cell phone to call as he makes 329 transfers (and undoubtedly gets lost) along the way!!!!11!!!!

its never cool or mature to make fun of retards in front of their face. mike from milwaukee is fine because he knows what he is doing, he knows hes the clown caller. this bob guy seems to have no clue that hes even on the radio, and its really sad. i dont even see whats funny. its just horrible conversation about stupid shit nobody cares about. terry seems to go along fine with it, because its something different for his tired old soul, but dan is just sucking the corporate tit and knows it. he got really short towards the end, trying to get bob off air, but he just kept letting it go on. if dan bernstein didnt have ovaries he would have axed the bob bit a long time ago.

someone called a few weeks ago and asked about him. it sounded like after he came and visited them, they realized that the dude was slow and just silently let that whole thing slide by the wayside. i assume the one that called was one of you guys.

they said he came to a remote, ate an entire pizza, spent an hour in the bathroom, and went outside and waited for a bus that never came and wandered off. someone came to pick him up and he wasn't there...they said that was the last they heard from him. i doubt that and bet he still calls but they've "evolved"

I don't think that's right. That did happen, but if I recall correctly he called in many times after that. It might have even been before he got his regular Friday slot.

dammit. that call they took asking about him was the first time in a long time i even heard the name. i'm just going off their response. i think it was after WYC last week when they just take calls. I rarely got to hear the bob segment. thats all i got.
