Seems like a good tune for the dystopian exurban sprawl of Westgate, and I listen to a lot of Neil Young in the springtime.

Image

This is our lone trip to Phoenix for the year. I think we always play a game there in March so that Chicagoans can twin a Cubs/Sox spring training game with a Hawks game. This kind of thing is important -- it's why the NHL has prevented the team from moving to Hamilton, Winnipeg, Quebec City, and Seattle.

The Coyotes sold off Vermette, Yandle, Dubnyk, and Michalek. Even low-end Blackhawks farmhand Rob Klinkhammer was deemed too useful to keep, going to Pittsburgh or maybe Edmonton or maybe both. Hanzal and Boedker are done. They're down to Shane Doan, Sam Gagner, OEL, and I think that's about it. Here's the prospective lineup for tonight:

Martin Erat – Kyle Chipchura – Shane Doan
Tobias Rieder – Mark Arcobello – Sam Gagner
Lauri Korpikoski – Craig Cunningham – David Moss
Tye McGinn – Joe Vitale – B.J. Crombeen

Oliver Ekman-Larsson – Michael Stone
John Moore – Connor Murphy
Klas Dahlbeck – Andrew Campbell

Mike Smith
Louis Domingue

Scratched: Brandon Gormley, Brendan Shinnimin

NO, NO, JESUS, NO, THIS IS NOT AN NHL TEAM, GOOD GOD.

Bickell is back in, Oduya is back with Hjalmarsson, and hopefully this is quick and painless.

Thinking about skipping this game, first one I'll miss all season. Team has become unwatchable. I watched the last two NYI vs NYR games, it reminded me that watching hockey can be fun.

Might invest in the package the rest of the way, its $50.00. For the first time in years there's no dominant team or even tier of dominant teams. So many teams can win it this year. Gonna be the best playoffs in years, too bad the Hawks won't be much of a factor in them.

NCAA hockey tourny starting soon, that's real good hockey. Been catching some games on NBCSN lately, those games are always fun.

Rozsival looked totally lost on the play the 'Yotes just scored on.
Slow. Bad.
Enough.

This team is an embarrassment. Yes, giving up a goal to the 29th offense in the league is an embarrassment.

Well there you go. Shaw gets the equalizer on Floppy McFlopperton.

Shaw doing what he needs to do all of the time.

It's louder than a Hawks home game here.

This is grim. The Coyotes are fielding a team of warm bodies built to lose and the Hawks are fighting for their lives. We should never say a bad thing about Patrick Kane ever again.

The Hawks pretty much dominated play in that period.
Total. Embarrassment.

I don't care if van Riemsdyk has been off the ice so long that he forgot what hockey is, I'll take him over Rozsival's corpse.

Sheesh. He gets results but I don't see the effort from him a lot.

They did dominate. And Smith made three great saves.

People have seen Crawford give up enough cheapies over time to expect one here and there.

He was at the optional practices that Toews blew off.

Great tune. There's some nice bars there to hang out before and after games -- but yes indeed, everybody knows those two stadiums should not have been built in the middle of nowhere.

The football stadium doesn't matter so much as the arena that has to draw people on weeknights over six months (though the NHL looks out for the Coyotes and tries to give them as many weekend dates as they can). If the team ends up staying, it wouldn't surprise me if they and the Suns teamed up with some Indians to build in/around Scottsdale.

When I watch him in games he has skill and plays smart but never looks like he is playing hard.

That's a great player making the hard look easy. Should he make funny faces more?
