The football stadium doesn't matter so much as the arena that has to draw people on weeknights over six months (though the NHL looks out for the Coyotes and tries to give them as many weekend dates as they can). If the team ends up staying, it wouldn't surprise me if they and the Suns teamed up with some Indians to build in/around Scottsdale.

I'm not sure about the move to Scottsdale. The D-Backs and Suns have it way too good downtown. U.S. Airways Center, Chase, and CityScape where all the bars, StandUp Live, Lucky Strike -- all within walking distance. And you got the light rail literally right there, which hasn't hit Scottsdale yet for some reason.

Team picked at random that the NHL is probably not helping:

Buffalo = 20 home weekend games this year

Anytime Sharp wants to break his stick and impale himself with it would be great.

That's Ike Dimick from the tv movie Poison Ivy with Michael J. Fox. Loved those 80s tv movies with the all star casts.

Okay. There have been years where it's been heavily slanted toward weekends for them, but continue following me around trying to get me on something.

I keep thinking Kruger fell down and is skating upside down but it's just Brad Richards.

I'll take that as tacit approval of my Kruger joke.

Disappointing game. A game against a gutted roster and the worst #1 goalie in the league should be a time to open the floodgates. Getting goals on the power play was nice, but it also means no goals at even strength, and it was still just another 2-1 win. Better luck against the Sharks, who may not be the tankjob the Coyotes are, but still aren't that good.

43/45 on the night for the floppy bitch. Is there a way we can get a literal sack of shit, I mean just take a big burlap sack, fill it with hundreds of pounds of cow shit, and put that in an opposing team's net? I'd like to see the Hawks make the shit go 59/60.

What is it going to take to get #10 to contribute anything to this team?

Sharpie just needs a piece of Mrs. Vermette, then he'll be good to go. He can't wait to break in the new talent.

That exactly the type of win the Hawks needed (save one thing) while missing the league's leading scorer (at the time).
Control the game, limit the other team's chances, and somehow find a way to score 2 - just enough to win.
2 points on the road is 2 points on the road.

The PP sucks though. Got to find a way to get........slightly less than average at that.

I might take issue that it was a road game. The majority of the crowd was Hawks fans.

The team is making everything look difficult. They outplayed a really bad team by a wide margin, but I just can't figure why they always make the other goalie look like a superstar.

Pretty hillarious amounts of hand wringing for a game they got 2 points and absolutely pantsed (rightfully) the team they were playing.

Hockey is quite often weird.

It's not like it was some 3rd string bum they were playing. Dude is an Canadian Olympian and almost single handed dragged them to the WCF a few years back, bad season at all.

They've always been a team that shoots it into the goalie's chest but this year it has been ridiculous. Saad had a point blank chance from 20 feet out last night and put it 10 feet wide . That's what happens when some of these guys try to aim.

Also, I'm a broken record with this at this point but the main problem with the PP is the point, specifically Keith. He has never been a good PP QB and for the love of fuck can someone at the point just wrist it on net?

I don't know if it's the coaching or the point men refusing to listen. Winding up for a slapper every time gives the opponent that extra half second to get in the lane and block the shot. Shea Weber has the best slapper in the league but you always see him throwing wristers through traffic on net on the PP. Has killed the Hawks for years with that.

We're not hand wringing over one game. It has been a long stretch of an inability to score. They better have some switch because this looks like a first round exit.

They need to score more, no question. Keep controlling he game and getting 45+ shots and that will happen. Someday.

The other goalies look like all-stars against us because they get so many chances to make a save. Smith sucks.
