Serious question for those that really do like the White Sox but (you'll never admit it) care as much or more about the Cubs.
You dislike or likely hate the Cubs but you really really can't get enough of them and / or everything that is a part of them.

Exclude the likes of "America" who is obviously THAT GUY on every message board and comments section he's ever seen.
I hear on the NSYNC fan club board he pushes the agenda of the Back Street Boys and condemns the US Government, Target, Starbucks, the Sham Wow and Wheat Thins.

Exclude the like of Frank who is obviously the kid who was picked on in school and every time he tried to fight back it turned into a YouTube moment that brought him more shame.

There's always been the Cubs vs White Sox thing and always will but before it seemed like Sox fans cared 60% about their team and 40% about the Cubs.
I think this upcoming Cubs generation seems to have ratcheted that ratio to 25% about their team and 75% about the Big Blue monster.

So excluding the couple nuts bags already listed I'd love to hear from Sox fans why this year is so intense of a Cubs following?

I think there is a fear that the Cubs have found a winning formula that will lead to long term success. They have built a strong foundation for scouting, drafting, and player development absent the short term thinking so prevalent at the major league level.

The Cubs are an easy punching bag. They haven't won a title in forever. They are owned by a rich guy who is perceived to be banking the money. And they have been absolutely horrible the last few years.

I enjoy going to baseball games. I like day baseball. It's great watching a game in the sunshine at Wrigley even if I have no rooting interest. But Ricketts is trying his best to ruin that experience in the pursuit of new revenue streams. If the Cubs really have built a juggernaut and have a few Babe Fucking Ruths on the roster, I don't mind. Those tickets are a commodity. I'm like dan bernstein. Whatever happens, I win.
