I've been a Sox fan for 46 years and I've never seen anyone close to as good as Babe Ruth in a Sox uniform. The Cubs have at least three Babe Ruths coming fast in their system. And those Babes are being followed by waves and waves of more Babes.

you know what's going to be awesome about this cubs team? they're undoubtedly gonna be very very good to great at some point, however fleeting that may or may not be... but then because they're the cubs you don't know if they're going to find some magical way to fuck it up in the end as they've consistently done for the last 100+ years.

if i were a sox fan looking to dump on the cubs fans i'd build this team up to the heavens and just hope that the next cubbie occurrence isn't a little team that could petering out at some crucial juncture; instead i'd hope for them to be the prohibitive favorites to conquer the universe and then find some truly special and indelibly "cub" way to completely shit the bed at the worst moment possible. they haven't cleared that hurdle yet!

and if they win it.... welp i always said that if the cubs won the world series i wanted to be under the wrigley marquee at the moment they won.... in a sox hat. worst case scenario i've just invented the term "suicide by baseball" akin to "suicide by police" but hey at least i've got one heck of a story for st. whoever at the gates of hell!
