Which is why it is so important to never forget 2005.

I never will. I hope you don't either.

The year that looked back upon and decided you became a Sox fan.
Truly a special moment.

It was! My return to baseball fandom!

It was a long break but it worked out in the end.

well, this thread has been successfully hijacked.

Not that it matters, the importance of spring training 2016 is far greater.

My first full year out of high school, in fact.

Obama gave a prime-time keynote at the 2004 DNC and was talked about constantly on the Daily Show from 2004 onward.

I see it was on CSPAN back in 2004. I was wrong.

Seven people knew who Obama was in 2004. I watch the Daily Show (almost) daily... they cover a lot. First of all, I doubt he was talked about constantly in 2004 before he was even in the Senate. Secondly, hundreds of politicians are touched on on that show. Doesn't mean they are known.

Szczur just killed a ball. His second of the spring.

Some of these guys will need to be moved for impact pieces. It is nice to see so many young kids playing so well.

You're only 10 years off. He was drafted in 2010 out of Nova. So this is only his 4th spring training.

I cant remember the last time I watched a Cubs spring training game. Been a long time since I was interested in the Cubs. This should be fun.

Every single HR was against a player that was recently cut from his HS team. One was a girl.

This again? Look at what happened last time.

Trevor Bauer. But nice try.

And so...

Jesse Hahn http://www.baseball-reference.com/playe ... je01.shtml
Evan Scribner http://www.baseball-reference.com/playe ... ev01.shtml

Both are major leaguers. Both should break camp with the major league team.

Bryant didn't even start in this game.
Otherwise he'd have had 3 for sure

So far Bryant has homered off of:

Brett Marshall (cup of coffee in the majors)
Trevor Bauer (major leaguer)
Matt Lindstrom (of great Chicago White Sox fame)
Cesar Ramos (veteran major leaguer)
Jesse Hahn (highly regarded pitching prospect, did well in majors last year)
Evan Scribner (journeyman bullpen arm in major leagues)

Every single player has been in the majors.

edit: Frank, I'm not the one who keeps saying the Cubs are hitting home runs off of 'AA' pitchers. Maybe it should be said that the home runs are not being hit off ace pitchers.

Then I would just look up how most of Jose Abreu's home runs last year came off of scrubs. Most home runs come off of non top tier pitchers. Crazy how that works!

I did. He probably gives up his share of HRs.

Which teams has he given up HRs for?

Bryant's power is nice but more interested in Hendricks. Man if he can keep doing what he did last year....

Pitchers really dont care about spring training. Last year Quintana had an ERA above 20 in spring training then went on to finish top 10 in WAR.
