That letter is a game changer. "Beverley" indeed.

Yeah this last episode is going to be interesting as hell. Bob appears to know the gig is up somehow but he'll likely find a way to squirm out of it.

Think about how bad these Galveston prosecutors must have been. They lost a murder case, in Texas, where the accused was a man from New York City, who dressed like a woman, and who dismembered the corpse.

Do you realize how hard you have to work to lose a case in Texas with those facts?

It'll be interesting to see what Jarecki says about what he knew and when he knew it in terms of the bombshell at the end of the last episode.

This is a pretty crazy story. Who chops up a guy pretending to be a mute woman ditching bail and gets off after admitting he killed the guy in self defense. Great legal system.

Wow. That was quite an ending.

If that had been scripted, I'd have said it was impossible.

who gets off to that? the guy who happens to be from the family ranked #5 in terms of NYC property ownership both literally and probably figuratively gets off to that! this snippet from his wikipedia page is great:

In July 2014, Durst was arrested after turning himself in to police following an incident at a Houston CVS drugstore in which he allegedly exposed himself without provocation and urinated on a rack of candy. He then left the store and casually walked down the street.

you're damn right you casually walk out of that store!

This whole thing was fascinating to watch. Will they be able to use his recording admitting to killing all of them in court?

Based on my vast knowledge of Law & Order, I'd say probably not.

Wow, that was really a heck of a mini series. I'd suspect this isn't over by a long shot. Possible entrapment by leaving that mic on him.
His lawyer had to be there and should have known better since he pointed it out to him earlier in the interview process.

I'll be interested to read Jarecki's interviews today because none of this seems plausible/makes sense.

They found the letter 2 years ago but just now he's being arrested again?

Nobody noticed he said those things in the mic for 2 years?

Did he say those things on purpose for some reason?

He knew he said them and he at some point had to take that microphone off. Why was he just running these past few days? He had two years to get out of the country.

There has to be a lot more to all of this.

I agree, the timing of his arrest is very odd. The night before the finale airs they nab him?

Were the police involved in interviewing him? I think entrapment only applies to police involved actions.

I'd imagine Durst's legal team would get the HBO statement tossed, or at least effectively impeach it somehow.

But the fact that Durst said it and that it's out there--if any prosecutor can get him back in front of a jury, they should be able to get a
conviction this time.

Maybe Durst himself is only happy when he's wriggling on the hook for killing someone.

I just watched the first episode. Didn't know about this story, but it's been in the news now.

It's interesting. Not that he's a killer.

That he's smart. His wife is smart. By the way they talk to the cops you can tell in this first episode. It's almost like what you would expect from movie lines the way they answer questions. He and his wife are very confident, calculated people. Never nervous or scared.

There is some deep shit here.

I find these stories fascinating.

Just watched the 3rd one. Why, as a multi millionaire and a New Yorker, was he living in that dump apartment in a small Texas town?

Why did he kill his neighbor? Was it because he was trying to steal that guys identity?

Ok. Show 4 explains it. He was on the run and was looking to change his ID after they were gonna reopen his wife's case.

I know it's horrible. But listening to this guy casually and calmly talk about how and why he had to cut up Morris black made me laugh. This guy is something.

He looks much younger than his 71 years. If I didn't know I would have guessed late 50s.

Unbelievable.

He's a smart guy. Why would steal a sandwich and talk to himself while on mic?

The son of Susan is a deplorable guy. He knew this guy killed his mom but was cool with it since the killer was paying for his college. That "buy out" got him to defend the guy that killed his mom. Then he didn't give the letter to the police? Kept it for the HBO guys so they can trap the killer? Probably got paid to do so. Blood money for your own mom? When he realized the SOB was gonna be arrested and convicted, he turned. Cried for the cameras, "He killed my mom". No more money for him, so now he's the grieving son. Bitch. He's a scumbag.
