Well, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing.

Travis Wood not sucking is good to see. The other 5th starter candidates are either injured (Wada/Turner) or sucking butt (Doubront).

Bryant is back in the lineup today, as DH. Should get some playing time in OF over the next week.

I just set my DVR to record this...from the office! Using the internet! I love technology.

The Chicago Cubs have assigned eight players to minor league camp, reducing their spring roster from 61 to 53 players.

Infielder Christian Villanueva and catcher Rafael Lopez have been optioned to Triple-A Iowa.

Six non-roster invitees have been assigned to minor league camp: Right-handed pitchers Corey Black, Pierce Johnson, Armando Rivero and Donn Roach; left-handed pitcher Hunter Cervenka; and infielder Logan Watkins.

Saw Black pitch Sunday. He lacks control. But, his stuff is pretty explosive. Going to go with reliever which is pretty nice for a Soriano salary dump.

Yeah, I still think highly of Black, but he has absolutely no control right now. Live bullpen arm seems the end-game. We hoped for starter when the trade initially happened but it wasn't much of a chance.

The Cubs need some solid left-handed arms.

Chicago Cubs prospects not named Bryant are also having great spring trainings.

Alcantara speed is spinning the Dodgers in circles. His speed led to a triple and forcing an error that eventually caused a run to score. Soler with two hits. Almora with two doubles. Russell with a hit and a run scored.

Most of all of that against Major League Starting Pitcher Brandon McCarthy.

CJ Edwards with solid shutout innings as well.

Castro gained some weight over the offseason, well documented.
It's not just muscle. Dude is smuggling a small pillow under that jersey.

Addison Russell is the SS of the future anyway. Castro will move to 2nd, move to 3rd if Bryant doesn't stay there, or will be traded.

Castro looked like shit in the field last night but can still hit. Definitely think he needs to be moved to 2B at some point with Russell looking real and Baez looking like a bust.

Even the Scrubs make short work of the White Sox. Early statement made on behalf of the more dominant Chicago baseball team.

White Sox throw all starters out...Cubs go with bench players...

Kentucky basketball would have a better chance of making the MLB Playoffs than the White Sox.

Bryant has twice as many HR's as any other player in all of MLB this spring.

Probably doesn't mean anything because JORR once went bowling with Scott Waguespack and Dan Vapid, but still, that's impressive.

Two great power stories from Spring Training pop in my head. Albert Belle and Sam Horn.

See, now we can get excited and temper our expectations all at the same time.
