He avoided arbitration with him which seemed to be the best move at the time.

For all he knew at that point, Beckham was going someplace else. If some team signs Beckham and he had not done this THE INQUISITOR is saying how Hahn messed up also.

So are you also saying this is a big deal?

Im saying if it were Theo, you and other Sox fans would be ripping him for it no matter how big a deal it is.

I dont see how you can even begin to consider denying it.

JR gives no fucks about you counting his coins

Nobody is worried about Jerry's finances. Some are just expressing an opinion on a GM who burns money

You would be hyperventilating with excitement trying to make a new thread if Theo did this

They save 80% of his salary awarded in arbitration. It's a very good gamble you could find a AAAA guy that replaces his production. You can't hide him at DH either with LaRoche and Abreu on the roster. I have a feeling Robin said "Fuck that shit" after having to carry Konerko and Dunn on the roster last year.

Look at the dead weight that has been shed from last year's opening day roster.

Paul Konerko
Adam Dunn
Alejandro De Aza
Dayan Viciedo
Erik Johnson
Felipe Paulino
Ronald Belisario
Donnie Veal
Scott Downs

If there was ever a case of addition by subtraction, this is it.

I believe Darkside once said about Donnie, "So young, so tender"

You would beat me to it starting one about how great the move was. I chalk you getting there first up to newfound speed with your weight loss.

I'm not sure Erik Johnson is dead weight. He's young enough to still put it together. Same with Viciedo, but if he hasn't by now I'm not sure what else he would need. The rest of that list though, Chus....yeeesh. Paulie was fine for one year as a bench guy, but its the other guys listed that which really make that an impossible situation.

If Theo signed a player (Tank) only to upgrade the position two weeks later (Melky), he would be getting slobbered all over by Cubs fans here. Sometimes you sign a guy and then end up trading/DFA'ing him because other moves work out in your favor and that guy becomes an odd man out. God forbid Hahn actually improves the big league team!

Pretty clear Hahn overplayed his hand and fucked up. He could've flipped Viciedo in May last year after his solid start for a productive player.

He's shown a proclivity in believing shitty players will magically have sustained production.

You must have the same inside knowledge of the White Sox as bigfan.

He was just DFA'd and there were no takers. If there was a deal for Tank that made sense for the Sox last May, it would have been made.

Ya, getting a bucket of sunflower seeds would've made sense. That's better than paying the guy $700K to go away.

So this is now just a Theo pity party?

Got it.

The White Sox and Adam Eaton agreed to a 5yr/$23.5M extension. The deal also includes two club options for 2020 and 2021.

Love. It.
