i can dig it. the only thing i'll wonder about is if the old scoreboard keeps on going, cuz i swear that thing was always faster at getting the count up there than any of the electronic scoreboards i'd see at other stadiums.

One thing not really discussed in the new lights in the OF. Always seemed dark on fly balls, guess not anymore. Maybe that was Sorianos problem? lol

Pretty accurate. Right down to the lack of championship banners.

I already see the problem though with the HR totals, only has 2 digits, not sure what they will do with Bryants stats!

That first pick up top looks fine to me. I see no reason why the wrigley nuts are so pissed actually.

The green on the new boards doesn't match the green on the old scoreboard. This is gonna piss people off!!!

You're right about the lights in the outfield. Outfield was dark. I always wondered why they never put them up before. Was it not allowed by the neighborhood?

they are changing the dimensions of the field too. 70 degrees between 1st and 3rd.

That roof top down the left field line is the only one that can still be in business. Is that the one that Ricketts bought?

I am going to say people will like the renovation and attedance will exceed 3 mill a year for the mutiple years in a row, money will flow in and the Cub will spend and spend as needed. During this time a world series will be won and one of the best plans in the history of modern sports will come together at one time.

Why didn't Trib Co. ever do this? Yes, I know it costs money but they had it. And buy doing all of it you're gonna make it all back with the new advertising revenue streams.

Buy the way, Tom has all ready doubled his investment. Cubs are worth 2 billion easily. Probably more if theClippers sold for 2 billion. Tom paid about 900 million.

For example, Rickets is renovating the entire bleachers. He's not just putting up the two boards. That costs tens of millions.

Why didn't the Trib Co. just throw up two scoreboards without renovating the bleechers. That could have been done relatively cheap. Maybe less than a million. They'd make it all back and then some in the first year with new ad money. They could have done it before they struck the deal with the rooftop owners. Remember when they put up those black screens? That was their way to fight them before they became partners. Black screens? How about scoreboards so you can make ad money and block the roofies.

This was krane Kenny's department back then. Dumb ass couldn't have figured this out instead of signing a 20 year contract?

Great question on why the Tribune Company never worked on a renovation project.

I'm guessing the answer lies in up-front money. The Ricketts family putting up money v. a corporation....very different worlds. I'd bet it's a short list of other corporate owned teams that successfully got a stadium deal done.

It looks good. The bigger question lies on the other view....the skybox and corporate seating options along with TV contracts is what will change the revenue stream.

Because the Tribune Co is a Chicago company that doesn't want to be responsible for pinning down and raping a historic landmark.

OTOH a bonerfaced rich boy from Omaha who's never had to (nor done) a real day of work in his life could literally care less about anything other than adding meaningless millions to an already outrageous pile of wealth.

The climate has changed on how Cubs fans view Wrigley Field. It will be interesting to see how the strategy of Ricketts works in the down years. I think the Tribune Company was happy the stadium was always full.
