This show is by far my favorite show currently. Writing and acting are both great.

Yeah, well, I'm still watching. I just think the giddiness in this thread derives more much more from the greatness of Breaking Bad than it does the greatness of Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul is a nice little show so far, and it doesn't give much hint that it's aspiring to anything more. Breaking Bad was completely different almost from its first episode.

I've never watched Breaking Bad. I enjoy Saul. I think they do a wonderful job of displaying his desperation.

Why would you watch this if you haven't seen BB? I don't understand that at all. Its not like BB sucks and isn't worth watching. And on top of that you'll get much more out of BCS if you know the cannon it comes from. why not just svae this on your DVR and go binge BB?

if i never watched bb, i would definitely watch saul until it ends then go back and watch bb. saul is going to end where bb started.

I don't think that's necessarily true. They've hinted that they might play with time and they've done it already - mainly with the past.

There's nothing to prevent them from jumping to Nebraska and seeing Saul's post-BB attempts to do whatever.

Despite my recent dismissal as little league field manage, I still have no time for that

"Thy will be done." - might be the funniest line on any show I've seen this year.

I was positive for half the show that the Sandpiper receptionist was Saul's. But I paused it and it wasn't. Think that would have been a sweet touch though.

Also thought the receptionist was sauls
Good show
But think watching BB makes it's better later on if/when they intertwine the time line and other characters

I got a kick out of that as well. The picture of Jesus "conveniently" in the background as well. Classic touch.

Just outstanding. The hour absolutely flies by.

I need to rewatch BB, but I always thought Mike's granddaughter there was roughly the same age as the girl in Saul. I don't know if there will be another kid or not.

I was trying to do the math on that myself. I figured she should have been a teenager by the time Breaking Bad rolled around. But if I can suspend disbelief pertaining to Walt's spinning trunk machine gun, I can do it with little Kaylee's age as well.

HOLY SHIT GUYS!!!!! and dr ken you'll love this, maybe they might mention it on the podcasts you do... i'm watching last night's ep now and when jimmy got the shredded stuff out of the recycle bin (as someone who has hid in a dumpster b4 i could relate to jimmy =) the music in the background was a hiphop instrumental, right?

well i know that song. it's off of handsome boy modeling school (prince paul and dan the automator) and it's a j-live cut where the hook is like YOU CANT HIDE FROM THE TRUTH BECAUSE THE TRUTH IS ALL THERE IS.... and it's the lawyer rap song.

it's fucking pitch perfect to be in there when it's in there and it made my day cuz i was like "holy shit this is awesome!" and about 30 more random unnecessary expletives because that's just how i roll. this insturmental had to be tossed in there as a little easter egg for people like me who would go HOLY SHIT THAT'S AWESOME!!!!

so well done to the BCS production team and uhhhh... yeah. fucking well done.

There's very little in this show that isn't perfectly thought out to the most minute of details.

The idiots who were responsible for Lost must wish they had this kind of attention to detail and story writing ability.

I watched last nights episode 3 times. Jimmy really looks up to his Brother and desperately seeks his approval, but he seems to be playing him by bringing work to his house knowing that his Bro will get it done. Best show on TV.

of course since it's 2015 i just checked and no less than 500 people made this observation on twitter, but still at least i'm prolly the only person on this board who was like !!!!! HOLY SHIT when i heard it perfectly used when it was.

i thought this show was just an attempt to milk more $$$ of breaking bad and i was like "whatever" and it indeed started off with the slow burn, but now this has firmly become appointment TV and you really genuinely pull for jimmy and mike and stuff. cant wait to see what they killed the audio to say to jimmy (likely WE WONT HIRE YOU) cuz he's really being set up as a tragic figure cuz you can tell the guy gives a shit and wants to do the right thing, but well, he's gonna work in the real world soon enough. i would bet this senior home thing = the impetus to run him off to saul goodmanville. they're going to use their status to junk his name i bet.

oh btw, and i know that the handsome boy modeling school song sampled the beginning of galt mcdermott's coffee cold but i'm telling you that the sample got used when it did because of the handsome boy modeling school track.

i dont think jimmy is playing chuck at all, i think he's genuinely trying to re-attach him to his pre-space-blanket life as a superlawyer.

but as kim or whatever pointed out, this could be potential problems for him going forward. we'll see.

I think Jimmy's brother is faking his whole "problem". Something went down in his past, and he started acting like he has this condition to get away from the law firm, or someone else who was looking to take him down. I imagine we will get the whole story by the end of this season.

ok my bad dude that was on me, cuz i was avoiding this thread cuz i hadn't watched last night's episode yet and i was avoiding spoilers and when the song hit i just came here and hit POST REPLY off of page 1 of the thread to make my post and not get spoiled.

but go figure the only other guy on the board who at least wanted to attend that MST3K thing @ the broadcast museum a couple'a years ago would be on point with the !!! stuff like this. again my apologies for underestimating you/CSFMB, sir!

This is interesting.

Possibly ties into whatever Howard told Saul after he passed the bar.

this show is very good. my take on things is that Jimmy is laying the foundation for this great case, and somehow it is going to be plucked from him thanks to all the help Chuck is giving him "on the side" and dropped in the lap of HHM and ole jimmy is going to be on the outside looking in.

i had minimal expectations for this show going in that have been thankfully blown away, this show is absolutely must-see stuff for me.

That is even more interesting!

Hasn't Saul's brother exhibited symptoms when no one else was around?

If so then not faking right?

If he had said Liam Neeson, you'd know he's making it up.
